When I was mentioning Superstorm Sandy earlier, I really meant it! Vogue US has published a pictorial in this month’s issue with models paying some kind of tribute to all those involved in the Hurricane Sandy relief task forces.
Because – you know – they’re New York’s finest! So they had to be presented with New York’s finest gals wearing New York’s finest designer collections. Is that really happening, or it’s just a bad magazine dream?
If it were any other kind of pictorial, I would’ve jumped up and down with sheer excitement! You don’t get to see Chanel Iman, Karlie Kloss, Kasia Struss posing together every month! Especially with Annie Leibovitz behind the camera!
It’s an interesting fashion way of thinking, for sure: Throwing in models, luxurious high fashion, special Police forces and natural disasters and push the blend button! Ah yes, it just makes so much sense! No excuse me while I go mix some garlic powder with caviar and vanilla pudding and make myself a very Vogue breakfast! (the third image, with Caroline Trentini, Kasia Struss, Jourdan Dunn and Miranda Kerr wearing white Marchesa dresses is from another pictorial, but I thought it fitted the description anyway, so I threw it in the mix too) (images courtesy tFS)

This is beyond disgusting!! I watched a documentary about the Sandy aftermath the other day….I cried along with the interviewed victims…..the devastating view of whole villages disappeared…..
Last week I watched The Road (2009). Seeing this shoot I totally believe even more it’s one of the most realistic movies about human kind I have ever seen. Beware…..
Everyone of those people that have participate in this shoot are empty headed, shallow idiots. I am very mild and polite here……
Annie Leibovitz & Vogue are a terrible combo – they just lack that right spark that say Avedon, Herb Ritts, Scavullo,Stephen Meisel, Pamela Hanson, Sheila Metzner,Arthur Elgort, Patrick Demarchelier, Bill King…I could go on & on & on…..injected into fabulous fashion photography to make it legendary. Vogue is such a swindle.
This is cheesy & embrassing & would be better as two separate editorials. For once the real people look fantastic & the models look patethic – karma!
Ah, you beat me Jac to something I would have like to add to my comment. Not all people participated are pathetic . Hail these guys whose jobs earn everyone’s respect.
Apparently we got all wrong (head on here to see why):
Though I’m not impressed with LVMH’s $1million. Tax deductible of course. Apologies for my cynicism….
oh my sweetie Lord , girls please, look at this here.
speechless…….
