Contrary to my initial impulse who was advising me to do otherwise, I read a piece of interview with (and about, duh!) Tom Ford. Some of the things he said were, you know, in his “full of him” tradition. Some were pretty normal and logical, like these (do read through what Tom Ford said and tell me how you feel about it! more here)
“[W]hen you do a runway show you have to amp things up in a way so that they read from a great distance – so that they are designed for photography rather than for a consumer. So you can exaggerate things to the point where they don’t actually function in real life for most peoples’ lives.
And what I wanted to do was create clothes for real people. I think that’s one reason why so many people in the world have switched off of fashion. They look at it as a spectator sport.
They wanna see what everyone is wearing and how it looks, but then they put on their t-shirt and their jeans.”

I like Tom Ford, for in all of his grandiosity he sometimes speaks a modicum of good down to earth sense. : )
Plus he knows how to wear a suit and I am a sucker for a man who knows how to wear a suit. ; )
He has his moments. Tom does make a lot of sense here. Though his clothes are not affordable for the regular people…..Not for me a regular Jane Doe….
I find it a pity a handsome man like him has not stick to his own rule ‘just a little botox’ or whatever it is he used. I saw photos where he looks crossed eyes! With his great sense of style and of course being blessed with natural good looks he would have become such a beautiful gracefully older man…..
