After weeks of speculations and rumors, the name of Carine Roitfeld’s next editorial project has been unveiled. Nothing simpler – the magazine will be called CR Fashion Book, like Carine used to sign her editorial letter back chez Vogue.
A mock – up cover has been presented for advertising purposes (contracting & so on) and, wwd has learned exclusive details about Carine’s upcoming Fashion Book. Besides what we already knew, that the magazine’s first issue will see the light of the newsstands this September (issue 0 reads the mock up cover), Carine vowed it’ll be different. Also irreverent, but different. (more images right after the jump)
And judging by this preview, Carine remains faithful to her explicit imagery and bold styling. She also said that the initial print will be around 50,000 (half for the Old Continent and half for Asia and the U.S.) and that the first issue is going to count 288 pages (of which 100 pages of advertising) and a $9.95 price. What I found to be very interesting, is that there will be guest authors in CR’s Fashion Book and that they will be published in their native language, with translation at the back ( i. e. if Pedro Almodovar will write something for Carine’s magazine, he will do so in his native Spanish). I’m actually looking forward to Carine’s project – sounds like a very courageous editorial move!
