Charlotte Casiraghi’s Vogue Paris September 2011

And here’s the long awaited September 2011 Vogue Paris issue. And who do we have on the cover? Is it a plane? Noooooo! Is it an actress? Noooooo! Is it a model? Noooooo! It’s Royalty!

Vogue Paris is aligning the fashion issue September 2011 cover to the Royal sympathy wave going strong worldwide with Charlotte Casiraghi as photographed by Mario Testino. Testino has two Vogue September covers! Impressive! Even more impressive than Charlotte’s distant, cold (almost royal) cover look. More images right after the jump, click here for the gallery. Take a look and say if the inside pictorial is more Vogue September worthy than the cover!

I find Testino overrated lately. And Monaco a joke as a “monarchy”. It’s done before with Aunt Stephanie. Not sure if she was ever a covergirl though. A royal smiles usually to please the people. It’s so not royal at all to look like this. But hey, Charlotte is not a princess.

I just don’t get this phenomenon of taking beautiful women & making them look average? Other Vogue covers have get choices like Florence Welch or the trio of Supers but the end result is just sooooo disappointing. Thank god for Kate Moss (& a touch of photoshop) on US Vogue!

Keiko; sorry to say it but I find Charlotte an average beauty. A pretty girl she is but one like millions of other girls.

Charlotte Casiraghi possesses many of the attributes that a modern day princess should have, in my opinion. I think Charlotte is beautiful, and while she may not have the grace and poise that her mother Caroline exuded, I have no doubt that it will come.

In comparison to the other “princess” Kate Middleton, Charlotte Casiraghi is mysterious, glamorous and composed, with an air of sorrow that adds to the intrigue of a royal. Charlotte may be young, but she is an icon in the making.

Over-exposed Kate on the other hand, is on covers of women’s fashion and gossip magazines worldwide. I’m afraid that the wide-toothed grin, accompanied by the best of Britain’s high street outfits don’t do much for me. I have also seen that semi-nude photo of a student Kate at university too many times. As much as Kate is trying to do the right thing – and is doing the right thing by many accounts – she will unfortunately be plagued by that photo for the rest of her “nouveau-royal” days.

I suppose it is a matter of opinion but in my view “a princess” should be elegant and classy, with a royal heritage. Give me Charlotte in her exclusive Gucci riding gear any day.
