I recently came across a very legit fashion dilemma: knee high men like socks. For women. Paired with pencil skirts, knee length also – hot or flop?
A very fall – ready pictorial from W Magazine, the August 2011 issue (featuring the gorgeous Karen Elson and photographed by Emma Summerton as styled by Edward Enninful) suggests that the infamous masculine knee high socks would be a must have this fall. And don’t even think about pairing them with military boots, oh, no, honey! They’re the perfectly trendy, stylish and truly fashionable accessory when worn with high heeled shoes or sandals and terribly elegant skirt suits. Now I know where I stand – I’m favorable to wearing those knee high socks, only I would pair them with frilly skirts, jeans shorts or bohemian flowery, mini dresses. Because I’m romantic – hippie that way. How about you? (photos via)

I like them and think that they are fun and cute idea. : )
I cant say i “love” those socks.. but I think knee highs are a style best kept for the younger, trendier crowd. Not a definate ‘high end’ look..
IMO…

I agree. I think knee highs are cute for kids and fun for the younger generation. At this shoot they look kinda nice as a contribution to the composition of the photo. If I would see this in real life I would think: “oohh, her thighs are sacking, she must have forgot her suspender. I must warn the poor woman! “
