Now if anyone would have ever mentioned skinny jeans as part of a couture collection, ever, I would look away in massive disbelief, fully convinced that they don’t know what they’re saying.
Even now, after watching and re – watching the show, few unbearable details keep storming in my mind, making me wonder why this Chanel Spring Summer 2011 collection was Haute Couture in the first place! (click through for more images and a video and let’s share some thoughts on this new Karl Lagerfeld fashdeed!)
Extremely easy to wear, absolutely lightweight and minimalistic, the new collection from Chanel felt so un – couture I’m having a hard time accepting it as such. Skinny jeans / pants? Beads and crystals embroidery doesn’t add couture just like that. There has to be more to an outfit than just this unbearable simplicity illustrated on the Chanel Parisian catwalk.
Also – this has been, I’m certain, the most comfortable catwalk for the participant models. Not one high heeled shoe was served down the runway! Not One! How is that possible, especially in a haute couture show? Everyone was wearing flats! (anyone seen Sasha strutting for Chanel Couture there? Oh, and thank your for Kristen McMenamy! Magnificent finale from der Kaiser!) (photos via)
