World’s Oldest Sneaker

We’ve had the pleasure of seeing the world’s first push up bra a while back. Why should we deprive ourselves of the latest fash-archaeology discovery? A 5,500 year old sneaker has been discovered in a cave in Armenia.

Though it may not look like a sneaker from today, this is the oldest known-to-date closed shoe. I wonder when will they find world’s oldest style blog in a cave, somewhere, with day-after-day drawings of cavewomen/cavemen outfits! (via)

I’m so curious what material has been used? Fascinating.
