If you were missing Victoria Beckham as the absolute Queen of Posh, there’s you chance: Vogue Germany’s main pictorial (and cover) is held by Victoria for the May 2010 issue. Good or bad is for you to judge.
All I can do is signaling you few Posh stereotypes to guide you through this Vogue Germany feature. Victoria has previously worked with Alex Lubimorski (remember her Harper’s Bazaar covers?) and this time they went even deeper on the thick eyebrow theme. (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)
Expanding her portfolio from aristocratic backgrounds to desert, filthy motels, Victoria tries hard to contrast. Too hard, in my view, since it’s pretty obvious she’s got absolutely nothing to do in such places. And the artistic hyperbole is not helping this time. It just makes it harder to digest. Just like the doughnuts she’s supposedly eating in one of the images.
And if you’re experiencing a powerful deja-vu, these are not reprints. It’s Victoria who’s doing the same pose over and over again (fashion migraine much?). So how does this feel, after all? (photos via)

I’ve no problem with her posing in these places. It’s only modelling and it’s not that bad. And she proves women above 30 can model. Right?
“Real models” do pose in places they do not belong either. For different reasons.
Tamara Mellon posed naked for Terry Richardson (who else?) and I don’t see any other reason to do so than hers and Terry pleasure and some people who get turned on by it? That’s fashion today. Not realistic at all. I can live with it.
Posh is trying to convince us that she belongs to fashion and does these things and that she likes to eat donuts…yeah right.
She is not a model who is paid to do this job she is a personality who wants us to believe that she has a “personality”.
This may be a tad harsh but I have never been a fan of her’s even when she was a Spice Girl.
Funnily enough I could take them as a whole when they “sang” together but as separate entities the annoy me to no end.
The Spice Girls’ Girl Power schtick was risible and embarrassing. Posh does indeed love fashion. I do wonder why the German editor wanted her as the cover girl. To generate some shock (horror) and awe?
I think Victoria, because that’s her name, has a personality. You can love or hate her the woman has achieved something in her life. Yes, it did help she was once Posh, the Spice Girl and David Beckham’s wife. But she could have sit on her butt at home and do nothing else than spend all their money on whatever? No, she is an ambitious person and grab her change. And voila the important fashion hoopla people applaud for her…..tsja…..
I don’t get it really why Victoria has to be bashed for the way she pose. That’s fashion: selling lies!
