I hoped it was just a joke, but it proved to be only the saddest of truth: Jessica Biel covered Vogue US, the February 2010 issue. And because the cover looks like an old Ralph Lauren ad, I can’t get over the feeling that their real cover girl walked on them at the last minute so they had to get someone available. Someone who’s always available. Jessica Biel! What a refreshing view! Not.
Instead of dancing the calm dance because they’ll leave Vogue US far behind even if they go with (again) Lara Stone for the cover, Vogue Paris went for a gorgeous looking (comme d’habitude) Daria Werbowy. On hot desert location. Oh, it’s so hard! Which one to choose, which one to lose? (the story continues after the jump with more images, click here to see the gallery!)
There’s so little left for the imagination reading Vogue’s Biel cover: it’s all in the Viagra, the love, the heating up, the dates… Where’s the fashion in all that, Anna? Intimacy doesn’t necessarily sell fashion, you know? Take a look at Carine’s cover: Tom Ford? Kate Moss? Collections? Daria Werbowy? C’est la mode, baby, c’est la mode! (photos via 1, 2)

Female Viagaa? Huh, have I missed something? Not in the mood take a pill? Right. And Jessica is NOT refreshingly real. I said it so often now: Vogue US looks like Cosmopolitan and I rather buy ELLE instead.
If I want a fashion magazine I buy Vogue Paris in this case though I can’t read French besides the headlines and I hardly recognise beautiful Daria!
Kpriss, new moderation policy?
I think that I rather the Daria cover.
I like both covers. The Paris Vogue slightly more. Jessica Biel looks rather overdone with the 1940s style makeup. Honestly, she’s so naturally beautiful, putting makeup on her is totally gilding the lily.
Wake up US Vogue – no longer a leader but a plodder! I prefer Paris Vogue but can not read french! If I wanted to read about a movie star’s life I would buy Instyle or a People etc.
Then how do you know the French aren’t writing about the same things?
@cc
They just don’t until now. Ever seen Vogue Paris?
Hilary Rhoda or current darling Karlie Kloss could have made the same pose & the average buyer would not have been able to tell the difference. It is sad that creativity is 2nd to profit.
We just don’t get Anna. She’s always about the spotlight. Nevermind fashion, fashion is there, somewhere, a mere instrument for the spotlight. I’d like her to take some chances every now and then. Push fashion in Vogue US instead of going with the Hollywood wave…
totally go for French Vogue, I’ve been waiting for the Prada moment so long after the runway.
