What’s Good Hair for you? I’ll state one fact clear, though: it really doesn’t matter what color your skin is, your hair will always want to be on the good side rather than the bad! So in the end, we all kinda have African American roots, haven’t we?
Chris Rock’s new film is a documentary. Called Good Hair, it really provides good fun (and scientific facts) along the way! Just check out the following the trailer, it’s worth it! (if you have already seen the movie in question, don’t be shy, share your Good Hair view with us!) (via)

I saw this film. I liked it. It was funny in parts and absolutely amazing and educational about how much Black women spend and do to their hair. As a Black woman I have done most of the things in the film to my hair, but I do it out of a choice and variety too. This is and can be a very touchy subject for Black women as we have a long history with our hair that has tied into race relations, prejudice, and sometimes sadly self hatred.
People take sides some saying that if a Black woman relaxes her hair then she must hate herself, which I personally think is nonsense. But there will always be detractors.
From the film I got the message that it is your hair and you should do with it what you will. No one should tell you how to wear it (unless you are in the military or some other uniform dress code profession). So dye it, shave it off, wear it natural, braid it, weave it or wig it up. It is your head and you decide!
Oh and Chris Rock is great as the narrator, he is very funny!
Did you see this film Kpriss?
Aweeeeee…….LOL! I want to see this film for sure.
Ah well, remember En Vogue singing Free Your Mind? A lot of white women are only happy when they are bleached blonde. Because it’s really true a blonde gets more attention. It’s the most popular hair colour. Perm seems to make a come-back due to the big hair trend…..
As speaking for myself, just for myself? I want my pre-lupus hair back, that gorgeous thick red hair. Now thinner, still not bad because I know of girls who are born with thinner hair than I have now….we all have complaints I guess? Are we ever satisfied with how we look? I guess not, otherwise the world of beauty had nothing to do or to talk about………
