Petit Bateau Spring Summer 2010 Collection

Petit Bateau’s Summer 2010 collection looks beautiful and playful. And I only think the best of it. But I allocated myself this occasion, using the Petit Bateau pretext and actually talk about my bad hair day/month.

What do you do with your bad hair days? I typically disguise that with a headband, a scarf, bobby pins and hope it’ll go away the next day. (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)

But what if it doesn’t? Then what? Most of the days, my hair looks just like this model’s hair. When I look at her, I even envy myself! only now, my hair just ain’t like that anymore! And there’s worse: I only use professional hair care products. It’s a habit I picked up by going once a year to visit my hairstylist. Kerastase, Tigi that’s what you find in my beauty case. But now my hair doesn’t want to know about those hyper expensive, hyper hype products anymore. It’s dry and it’s curling on itself like suffering from some virtual tummy ache! Imagine that, my hair has indigestion! I tried “natural” remedies. Like beer and honey? And yolks? Nope. They don’t speak my hair’s language either!

My Ever-So-Adored Husband is completely laid back about this hair-situation. He said, much to my amazement, that twice a year I have these bad hair & nails weeks I turn to nuclear catastrophes and after a while it all goes back to normal. And I stop crying my hair out. Do you have bad hair seasons? Bad nails weeks? What do you do? I even thought about wearing cartoonish (you know, the ones for kids?) band aids on my fingertips, then I changed my mind cause my kids would want to wear them too and we’d turn into a fingertips band aid family. I even thought about wearing some white tape like Michael Jackson’s? Then it crossed my mind that I’ve got to learn the moonwalk to make a credible MJ fan to everyone who might wonder why I’m wearing those white bands on my fingertips.

Petit Bateau Summer 2010

I’ll stop here, take a fresh breath looking at these lovely pictures from the Petit Bateau Spring Summer 2010 lookbook and dream about those summer days when my hair (and my nails) were impeccably frizzy and shiny! How do you fix your bad – something days? (photos via)

The clothes are very cute I like the relaxed style of them.
As for your bad hair days Kpriss, the problem I think lies in the fact that your hair is tired or immune to the products that you are using.
I alternate hair and body products monthly. I find that my skin gets used to certain creams and lotions so I change and use a different one for a bit. So mix it up a bit Kpriss, and if that does not work, remember winter is coming and that means HATS and they always save me on a bad hair day in the winter! :)

Oh Kpriss!
Give Aveda’s hair products a go for a bit. They are wonderful and great for curly hair. I know this first hand! : )

Uff. I have thousands of bad hair days! Nowadays most of the days beacuse I’m going to the university by underground, so even if I straight my hair every morning it wins volume. God bless Audrey Hepburn’s updo which make my bad hair days a little better. That or an easy ponytail could work for you too : )

Finally, I like Petit Bateau’s colletion I’ll look for some items.

Thank you so much! Your words are music to my hair! Ellington, you might be right there! My hair is developing some kind of immunity to heavy price tags lol! I’ll give just one my chance to the pricey hair care products after which I’ll completely devote myself to finding the secrets behind yolk, beer, honey and virgin olive oil. One day I’ll get to the bottom of it! ;)

s. you straighten your hair every morning? Ughhh.. that’s gotta hurt! I remember my corporate-city days (as strange as it may sound, that’s when my hair was at its extreme length, ever): the imagination effort it took to find yet another way to tie it all together! keep it under heavy control! Good luck with that straightener! there was one time in my life when one could marvel at the sight of no less than three hair straighteners in my possession! All mine! bought by me own proud hand! I now have none. It’s been over an year! (and counting! ;) )

kpriss. It’s not a big deal, my hair is already straight, but Barcelona is really humid and I guess you know what humity does to hair.
Wow! Three hair straigteners? I’ve only own one but I must confess that I hace an ionic hair drier and a curling iron ( I worked in a stetic centre two years ago on holidays and I bought lots of things).

Good point Ellington. I do not alternate beauty products of every kind every month but I do it on a regular basis. I’ve straight hair with a light wave but also my hair looks awful when it’s humid girls! Ugh….
Aveda has great hair products.

I really love this collection. I walk away in that stripey T and grey jeans and heels, even the socks just like that.
