Flowy, silky, towering heels, simple hairdos, the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection was supposedly all about the mystery woman. (they should’ve added a special mention for Rodarte: definitely Mulleavy inspiration in mixing & patching fabric: Ranya Mordanova’s black dress is a perfect example, after the jump!).
Keeping the beauty makeup palette to a minimum with just salmon shaded eyelids, natural looks and slick, straight bobs, the 3.1 Phillip Lim spring summer 2010 collection seems pulled straight out of the fashblogosphere: from the bright orange-red suits to grey minis, severely cut mustards to various fabric patched dresses. The collection as shown by Abbey Lee (plus Hanne Gaby Odiele in bronze mini dress and Cici Ali in urban sporty grey jersey short jumpsuit) has a strong thrifty, mix’n’match air, DIY trendy fashion .A short mention for waist-cut tops: Phillip Lim wants you to show your belly button next summer. Oh, yeah! The shoes! I kinda saw a Rodarte resemblance on that level too! They so reminded me the Christian Louboutin made for Rodarte! And guess what?! They actually are made by Louboutin! For Philip Lim this time! (and if you watched the collection video or looked at the pictures from the entire collection, that opening red suit? the shoes? such beauties! I’m considering switching for those from my beloved Tributes!)
I always love Phillip Lim. I think his design is very fashionable but still wearable with great individual pieces. This season he also made a Leather tee in both women and men collection. I so in love. And the shoes are so very gorgeous. I saw that Louboutin for Phillip Lim for maybe 3 collection now.
