Donna Karan Fall Winter 2009 2010 Ad Campaign

…Meanwhile, in Fashworld, new advertising campaigns are on the way, insulting our vigilance with misleading images like Donna Karan’s Fall 2009 ad campaign.

Featuring Toni Garn (and Karlie Kloss’ back) in a runway setting, like we were warned it would be, the new Donna Karan ad print looks a bit fishy. I may not be a desktop publisher par métier, but my passion for altering images (in a funny way, like Christian Audigier wearing a Victoria Beckham dress) makes me point in the right direction: if this Donna Karan ad campaign comes straight from the catwalk, then this should not be Toni Garn. (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)

Donna Karan Fall 2009 ad campaign

Because she never walked that outfit down the runway. It was Anya Kazakova who had this ensemble for the Fall Winter 2009 2010 catwalk. If this is the official ad print for the campaign, Donna Karan’s staff (and why not Donna Karan herself) doesn’t care about what people think about her work/brand. She only cares about the economy. Shouldn’t we care more about the economy of our pockets? (photos via 1, 2)

I don’t see the problem here? What’s the problem? So another model posed for the ad campaign in the same ensemble than the one that walked in that ensemble the catwalk? Is that so terrible? I really don’t get it…….??? Doesn’t that happen all the time?

no-oh.. in fact, they photoshopped Toni’s head on Anya’s body.. That’s what makes it sooo weird and unacceptable! if you take a closer look, you’ll notice that Toni-Anya from the Donna Karan ad has a too-long neck to be real…

Oh, how dumb……it was early morning here and I had something on mind…. You even wrote about “altering images”!
Yes, I agree now, that’s weird. The pose of the body and hands are exactly the same and yes, Toni has a bit of a swan neck.
We should care more about the economy of our pockets that’s how it is.
In this case though it’s a kind of deceive. Right?

Wackiness ensues. I like the dresses but doing that kind of photo shop is simply lazy and strange.

I am not impressed by the adds since last season but I love her designs and the styling was great. But at least there are like 10 people the company can’t they just come up with something easy and simple but not easy. The clothes were already made, just pay a model and wear clothes and make some photoshop at the background would be way better!
