It’s rumored that the Wintour tyranny is heading to an end. And that the next in line for the Vogue US throne is Aliona Doletskaya, Vogue Russia editor in-chief.
With the latest celebrity wave hitting the Vogue US shore and all fashion crowds turning to Vogue Japan or China, or Russia, it doesn’t surprise me one bit. However, it would be also interesting to note that fashion, in general, is headed for Asia and Eastern Europe. Why? Because les nouveaux east-european riches love tags. More a product is tagged, more they get recognition. Socially and otherwise. So Vogue Russia is leading the fash-pack in Vogue’s land now.
Their December Issue, with (a strange-looking) Naomi Campbell on the cover is pretty impressive. And pretty un-original. Naomi looks nice, and like a winter princess.
Kpriss when I first read your comment I thought that it said that the Wintour Tranny is almost over.
It made no sense to me but it did make me laugh. : )
These rumors are on now for a while. I’m curious how US fashionistas shall react on the “Russian invasion”.
Its like Naomi goes Dr. Zhivago! And she’s engaged now to a important and very whealthy business man…..
There are yet many flagstores in China and Eastern-Europe as well as in Dubai. Yes, the world is changing…..
I absolutely love this cover! I can’t stop looking at it.
