Dorothy’s Ruby Slipper By Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti is part of a project called Ruby Slipper Collection and working on a collection that should be unveiled in September 2009 Fashion Week.

I know the NYFW just ended and I’m already thinking about next year’s FW but these red slippers were just breathtaking. They’re made for the celebration of The Wizard of Oz, the 70th anniversary in partnership with Warner Bros and Crystallized Swarovski Elements. For this Ruby Slipper Collection, world’s most acclaimed designers will add their contribution and after numerous public viewings, the collection will be auctioned for the benefits of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Don’t you think these sandals look completely adorable? I wonder if one can actually walk with these? (there’s a detail picture right after the jump)

Pretty red but the shoe reminds me too much of the Chinese foot binding shoes, so no I don’t really care for it. Can you get other shots of the other shoes Kpriss?
Just a side note of minutia, in the Wizard of Oz book the shoes that Dorthy wore were diamond not ruby. They change so it would look better on the screen.
