Funny things happen when you only rely on tech sources. And finding out your neighborhood isn’t really what you thought or remembered, is one of them.
The other would be a completely unique and surprising architecture brought to you by the one and only Google Earth. I confess using it from time to time and being impressed by the algorithms they must use to stitch everything together like that. Nevertheless, important distortions happen to good programs too, so here’s a multi satellite multi shoot patched all together… It’s like those drawings from childhood where you’re supposed to see the flaws. Wow! That is impressive and rather Escheresque!
El, good on you. I wouldn’t have made that quick connection with Escher.
I’m impressed the patching/melding of disparate shots works as well as it does.
Still, it’s visually unsettling. And therefore Escher-like in its impossibility.
