Pierre Cardin Joins The Club Of No-Eating Designers
April 14th, 2008 by kpriss
“I want to improve myself. I do not want to live for eating. Isn’t that what you expect from life when you are old – dinner parties and only sleeping?”
The 86 years old legend talks about life’s pleasures and recognizable style. He knows the world’s turning around wallets but he also says that one should begin the construction of its name with a personal style, not with a heavy banking account.

That, of course, doesn’t elude paying for originality and talent in any creative field and since his story was “my talent made the money, not the money made the name”, he’s selling all his empire for $1,2 billion.
It makes a world of difference from the full-of-wisdom-antisocial-Kaiser, doesn’t it? Stepping down to taste the pleasures of life and communicating with people. Why can’t the world spawn more Pierre Cardin?

Chloë Sevigny Uniqlo Ad Campaign Unleashed
April 14th, 2008 by kpriss
A while back I let you know that there was going to be another Chloë Sevigny involvement in the fashion world – the UT Uniqlo Project.
Well, it’s released! And it looks at least outrageous (not that I would have expected less of her). La Sevigny poses like she’s struck by some gastro-trouble or touched by some love misery.

Either way, the pose that’s saying all by itself is the one with the white t-shirt where she shows not “the finger” but both of those mythical middle fingers.
Like she’s sending this “you’re bugging me!” message to all of you watching these advertising photos right now! All polite, this cute little blonde button!
What’s wrong with you, woman? Can’t your big head understand you’re making too much fuss of your fashion-self?

Kate Moss Trouble With Luggage – London’s Heathrow T5 Bags Twilight Zone
April 14th, 2008 by kpriss
Not long after Naomi’s Heathrow luggage trouble, Kate Moss finds herself in a similar situation. Living England for US sunny shores with her daughter and 8 suitcases was all fine.
Coming back with her daughter and 10 suitcases wasn’t quite the same. The Heathrow Terminal 5 is a luggage twilight zone since 28,000 bags were lost in a month from the opening of the terminal.

And that’s not the only thing I found out from the incident! It seems that, somewhere in the 10 Louis Vuitton was also the prototype collection of Kate Moss’s line for Topshop fall edition.

I really hoped this was coming to an end with the present flop. I guess it’s far from it. And plus – they appear to have located the luggage, hence the collection will be returned safe and sound.
Is someone famous more entitled to require special treatment? Naomi made a splash out her luggage problem at T5. Kate Moss chose a low profile but the news still made it to the media so it’s a big issue nonetheless.
How’s a “famous” bag more different than your bag for instance?

The Transformable Sofa
April 13th, 2008 by kpriss
What do you do when you’re having a crowded house? You’re being inventive over every inch of space available. I know I am!
With toddlers at home and relatives popping up from time to time, I thought this sofa would be excellent. That is if you have no problem with heights! Just like a normal click-clack system, this sofa turns into a bunk bed. With safety elements and ladder integrated.
What space savers do you dream of or have back at your place?
Doutzen Kroes Couture in Bloom In Harper’s Bazaar April Issue by Karl Lagerfeld
April 13th, 2008 by kpriss
Harper’s Bazaar features a photoshoot in the April 2008 Issue called “Couture in Bloom” with a gorgeous fresh-faced Doutzen Kroes.
Nothing unusual until here. The photos show a princess-ballerina-like-Doutzen with almost bridal fairy tale-ish dresses from Christian Lacroix, Givenchy, Armani, Chanel, with hair arrangements from Bumble and Bumble and makeup from Chanel.

Well, with all that Chanel in sight isn’t anything ringing a bell? A tiny one? Then let me tell you who is the photographer behind this pictures – Karl Lagerfeld!
Kate Moss Does Agent Provocateur Again
April 13th, 2008 by kpriss
Kate Moss is back at Agent Provocateur. And not for any season’s collection either! She’s doing the bridal theme. Maybe those rumors about her and Mr Hince are true.
However, these shots don’t get to me like Maggie Gyllenhaal ones did. And even the last advertising thing with Vahina Giocante was far better to my eyes than La Moss all dressed up and looking abandoned on a bed or alluring on a bar (or what bears a striking resemblance to a bar). What do you think? Is she reaching for recognition as a “bridal character” or just another financial reason to get almost undressed?

P. Diddy If I Were King – Sean John Documentary
April 12th, 2008 by kpriss
That’s like the tip of the iceberg for celeb designers. Having your own clothing line it’s the first step. That’s what you get when you’re Rachel Bilson or similarly famous. But when you’re already on top, where can you have your designer madness come true?
On the catwalk. You actually become a designer. You can actually have your own fashion house. He is, undoubtedly, one smart business man, he can keep the dead alive (his success was mostly based on his friend Notorious Big dead and reediting his work after dead) but can he really make fashion? Or is he just selling attitude under a big signature?
My road to becoming a designer started when I was around the age of 6-7 years old. (…) The collection is a story of a king. The older king is sick and he passes. And you have this young prince that is not really ready to be king. And we get into the story of the young king and all of the changes that a young king will have to go through. The pressure of the world is put on him. Now he has to be king.

M-dolla Chopard Knuckle Ring Vs Ken Goldman’s Knuckle Brush
April 12th, 2008 by kpriss
Madonna is the toughest…diamond girl! Everywhere you turn your head, another Madonna cover pops up. Now that we’ve all seen the boots, we can admire the bling.
“M-dolla” Chopard Knuckle Ring has more than 258 brilliant diamonds and appears on the cover of the much awaited “Hard Candy” album. But what’s the idea with this ring? It has a special feature we’re not aware of? Some kind of glowing in the dark thing? It gives the wearer superpowers? And I know she’s not a punker, however, I came across this Knuckle Brush and thought it would have been more becoming for Madge … It’s rougher than a blingie, it’s womanly enough, would have been a perfect waste of minutes to save the world…from dust.
What would it be? Bling it or dust it away?
