Formal Star Style: Sandra Bullock’s Alex Perry Bright Dress

It’s been a while since we last talked about Sandra Bullock so it’s about time we made up for that with a peak at Sandy’s wardrobe!

Color blocking outfits have been around for ages but in the past two years, there’s been a serious frenzy of color block looks: either in two-pieces combinations or blended into a single statement bright item to wear all summer long. The latter goes for Sandra Bullock here who made a sunny appearance at the 2013 Venice Film Festival in Italy for Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity movie (in which she’s costarring with George Clooney) in a bright Alex Perry tangerine pink dress. (more after the jump!)

As you can see from the pictures, Sandra is nothing short of fabulous in that dress and I think we can go ahead and let the inspiration flow our wardrobe as this is a perfect dress for a cocktail or a fancy summer event. Without breaking the bank and without mirroring the exact same look Sandra Bullock was wearing, here’s a simple tweak of Sandy’s Alex Perry color blocks dress as I put together in a blink. (just for reference: Alex Perry is an Australian fashion designer whose most notable highlight was dressing Miranda Kerr’s wax rendition in a bright red gown)

In my perspective, should you opt for a skirt and top combo, you have better chances at wearing them separately or in various combos and not just the one above. Notice Sandra kept it neutral with a pair of Zanotti sandals – you can do just the same by choosing either a neutral pair of pumps or sandals that you can furthermore wear in more than one occasion.

In short: to dress like Sandra Bullock, all you need is a tangerine mini skirt, a neon pink top and a mint belt. You can vary by choosing equally neon bright colors combos for a sunny look like Sandy’s. How do you feel about this bright ensemble?
