Badgley Mischka Spring Summer 2010 Collection

I didn’t realize Victoria Beckham’s designs were to fash-influential until I saw the debut of the Spring Summer 2010 collection signed Badgley Mischka!

Of course it was meant to be commercially appealing and fall in the 2010 trends category, however, the clean shapes, the samurai de-structured clothes meet the stylists general demands for next year’s Spring Summer. (the story continues right after the jump with more images and videos of the Fashion Show)

Pantless looks with bikini inserted between the resort-like elegant dresses, strong colors, classic cuts, Badgley Mischka doesn’t want to shock or impose something louder than fashion. It’s easy to wear, easy to digest and easy to associate with multiple fashion eras. Of course, the days of the smoking plus bikini were a complete unknown until Lady Gaga, but behold! the catwalk has adopted the pantless trend as its most treasured discovery!

What I can’t really digest is the blackitude of next year’s Summer! Of course we should all have some little/long black dress in our wardrobe, but what are we to do if everyone (and their respective, respectable fash-dog) starts wearing black also? Where are we to limit fashion from safe choice?

Badgley Mischka Spring 2010

Badgley Mischka’s Spring Summer 2010 collection was made for a ladylike, safe yet feminine wardrobe. For a woman who likes to follow the trends in her own subtle manner, without being ostentatious with her fashion avant-garde-ism. With every “safe” collection, I have a déjà vu feeling. Without taking so many chances, the designers follow à lettre the stylists indications and they somewhat end up looking all the same.

Badgley Mischka Summer 2010

Badgley Mischka did a recession-safe collection, terribly elegant and luxuriously relaxed, with so many feminine detailing, it almost makes you forget about the massive necklaces adorning almost every look, highly contrasting with the minimal hairdo and the simple strappy platform sandals.

Sometimes safe feels nicely safe. It depends on my mood. Right now I don’t have a summery feeling. Plus I cannot live without my black pants, black dress(es), black shoes, boots etc.
So it are stylists that rules now? Aha, therefore we see so much crazy shoes, knee-high stockings, sheer, tulle and the pantless look? It’s if a lot of designers have spies around or have they secret meetings?

I like this collection, it is feminine and pretty, and I love the black. :)

Now that you mentioned it, I thought about it for a minute and summed up a total of 3 (yep, you’re reading that right! THREE) all-black pieces of clothing in my wardrobe! calling Badgley Mischka to the rescue! ;)

hmm.. I’ma fix that in the future!
