Kate Moss US Vogue August 2008

When the rumors about a new Vogue with Kate Moss promised a Brigitte Bardot look for her I felt disappointed. The eternal lack of originality disappointment.

Then again we’re talking a vacation issue somehow, clichés are the assured success. Or not. US Vogue is stubbornly committed to shred everyone’s conception about age and looks into photoshop pieces and throw them to the crowds. They’ve done before, they’ll do it again. And again.(two more images follow after the jump)

Kate Moss Party Look

Maybe it’s because of this fall Topshop opening, maybe La Moss is preparing a Hollywood entrance. Anna W is determined to make a presentable lady out of Kate. And the result is pretty lame. Why would this Kate be any different the any other mess-looking-like-Kate? Why Vogue Us is keen on making us see a president-wife-like-La-Moss-cover? (at least the two other photos are more realistic and rumors coordinated)

I rather look at ‘Kate Mess’ than at this over photoshopped photos knowing what she’s really look like!
And why always that BB-look over and over again? I do repeat you Kpriss I believe? I’d rather look at photos of the real one…..
Ageless issues? This makes me laugh out loud. As long as the fashion industry use teens models and thinks they make me buy the ‘age-less issues’ to keep me satisfied as a woman, no such luck! That political correct attitude doesn’t please me at all.

I’ve seen the cover already and thought what a boring woman is that! Oh, its Kate Mess????

I like Kate Moss or Mess (that’s cute Adriana! :)) as model she is good at her job.
I believe that Vogue is helping to re-brand her or to try to add another aspect to her persona. The cover says she is now a business woman so they are trying to make her as such. I don’t know if I buy it but that point is moot as I don’t know if I buy most of Vogue’s covers. Its not as if I expect inspiration or depth from them. Tis summer and they usually try to save the big gun cover for their up coming Fall/Winter preview issue.
I think that you are right Kpriss they are rehashing and playing it safe. But a point for them for using a real model and not another actress.

Ellington, as well Vogue US as Vogue UK have always models on their ‘age(less)’ issues…..

Why all the fuss about Kate M. she isn’t and never will be a business woman. Her name is just a brand and she is happy to collect all the money she gets on her bank account, further she knows nothing about doing business. Her Topshop collection was fake and copied and still is with all the moves she takes. I have to admit she has a very good PR and Financial adviser and bookkeeper, this little girl is growing up to a more adult woman. But has she any knowledge of doing business?? The answer is no, and if you have some brains you know exactly why I say this, nonetheless she is still my darling.

Ahh little Kate from Addiscombe. She has come a long way from that awful ‘The Face’ cover. But like Monroe and BB the girl can’t help it.She just oozes an undefined sensuality. She does attract attention no matter what she does. She’s media temptation and as Oscar Wilde said…The Way To Avoid Temptation Is To Yield To It.

kate, ideal american icon? i dont think so. dont like the cover-so fake. but i like kate’s ability to transorm. like always, she did a great job.

The honor of Kate’s ability to transform this time in something so different as the a daughter of Martha Stewart, is the job of the photographer(s), visagists, stylists, photoshop, airbrush and errrr….whatever….

(It seems Vogue US has lost a lot of ad campaigns to ELLE. What about that?)

Now this is interesting……I can’t believe it we don’t need much time to studie it but Kate Moss wears for Vogue US August the same dress as Charlize theron for ELLE UK August!
Look here.

Olalala…..am I the first who does notice this? What a day! LOL! Some editors are biting their nails or worse!

P.S. Charlize wears it better in my opinion. Kate looks unreal. This isn’t Kate. Charlize make the dress look more glamourous and is her own stylish self. Gosh….

Hahaha! Adriana, you’re so right! Excellent point! And I agree, Charlize wears it better. She looks more real than Kate La Mess as you say! ;)

I overheard saying that Vogue is losing ads to Elle but that may be just for the summer, as Ellington says, because they’re relaxing before the big booms of fall winter issues. I guess time will tell!

Ellington – what business woman? Kate? No way is that possible! All that tobacco, alcohol and crack is supposed to provide some registry clairvoyance? Silly me for thinking it’s math and heavy brain rotation…

Valerio, indeed she has some team looking over her interests! Otherwise it would all have gone to ashes by now! Lucky her!

Dame Edna, to be honest, I see no sensuality in Kate. My votes go to Charlize in that direction. But she does attract media like a magnet…
