There’s that nineties air empowering all magazines edits and covers lately. And after last month with Eva Mendes (that I particularly found inappropriate to publish here), this month’s Vogue Italy comes with Linda Evangelista.
Being one of my fav 90s super, I couldn’t overlook her and her pictorial. Called the Duchess and photographed by Steven Meisel, it looks like cut right out of the nineties.
Can’t hold back, even so..
The pictures look sad to me, not to mention that the cover is playful in a wrong kind of way. I know I’m taking things to seriously, but what’s the point in co-starring a dog (or several dogs) for a photo shoot if not to bring out the solitude of the main character?
You look at the pictures and tell me what’s your feeling about this pictorial (click on the thumbnails to enlarge). (photos via tfs)

It does sort of have a sad feel to it. I think the photos are quite beautiful. It seems to be a continuation of an editorial they did together for Vogue Italia in 1991.
The chic ageing woman……is she happy waiting for her husband to come home and plays with her dogs in the mean time or are the dogs decoration?
The chic ageing woman…..is she lonely with a huge alimony because her ex-husband found a younger version of her and are her dogs her only company?
This editorial doesn’t attrack me, it looks sad, lonely and too plastic fantastic…….
She really needs to retire. Her and Turlington already had their turn in the spotlight and it’s time for them to give it up!
@ Ashli, why should they give up? Christy is still lovely to look at. As for Linda she’s to plastic-fantastic and I was such a fan of her in the 90’s!
Its not her fault of course, maybe she does look better in real life and its all the unnatural photoshop and airbrush….but there is only one Linda E.!
There are more models who had their turn in the spotlight….so why can’t we grow older together with our faves?
those dogs are props?? so what?? or is anything in a picture with linda evangelista a sad thing?? weird topic.
she is an icon who can have anything or nothing in her photographs.
