Vanessa Paradis “I Love Paris” Ads For Paris Airports
June 5th, 2008 by kpriss
Vanessa Paradis makes a strong coming out this year. Besides being the next spokeface for Miu Miu fall winter 2008 2009, her voice will be heard in the Paris Airports.
Singing Cole Porter’s composition “I love Paris”, her ads will be featured on television and shows a family going through shops, restaurants and boarding areas from the airport, all accompanied by Vanessa’s voice.
Even if I sometimes liked her singing, I think it’s only meant for a special kind of songs, not for the average tune. And listening to her version of Cole Porter’s “I love Paris” kinda scratched my ears.
You watch it and have your say! (watch the clip right after the jump)

Le Tribunal De Grande Instance: Hermès 1, eBay 0
June 5th, 2008 by kpriss
I was hoping the other way around, but Hermès got ruled in favor by le Tribunal de Grande Instance.
Unconfirmed, eBay has to pay $31, 058 for not having paid enough attention to the authenticity of goods sold on the website. Of course it won’t make a fortune out of this legal reward, but Hermès was happy to make this “important step in the fight against counterfeiting.”
You see, I’m puzzled. For one I think it’s very important to have authenticity in view when talking ecommerce. On the other hand, counterfeiting has always been a normal underprocess of commerce, like an unwritten law of branding. If you have to choose sides in this battle, where should you pick to fight?

Laetitia Casta For Louis Vuitton
June 5th, 2008 by kpriss
Ever since Marc said he’s dumping Victoria Beckham and he’s going back to models for the Fall – Winter 2008-2009 Ad Campaign, rumors bloomed.
Since there was this nineties frenzy, we’re thinking, of course, the winner would be one of the supers. Now it’s not about Marc Jacobs label, it’s about Louis Vuitton but we’re still happy to speculate. However, given the last ad-splash with Mert and Marcus and all the nineties supers, it’s a risqué bid. Now they could consider they’ve already been on the supers-road and do something else. But no, rumors point towards Laetitia Casta who was supposedly in a photo shoot this week for LV. Good news?

Dooney & Bourke It Bag Vs Louis Vuitton Monograme Multicolore Bag
June 5th, 2008 by kpriss
In the Monogram war, there was a point marked for Dooney & Bourke. Louis Vuitton ego received a multicolored slap.
In a four years long court battle, Louis Vuitton Monograme Multicolore lost in favor of the Dooney & Bourke “It Bag”. It was clear from the beginning – both bags are white with beige details and imprinted with multicolored logos! Why should there be any similar? As they say, imitation is the highest form of admiration. LV should be proud. Everyone knows they’re the ones! Right?

I guess when hearing “Diesel Fiat 500” you’re not immediately thinking about fashion. And still…
Diesel has dressed up the legendary Fiat 500 and even if there hasn’t been any official statement yet, an advertising campaign from Lapo Elkann Independent Ideas is in the making. After Bugatti Hermès, this is the budget fashion-car, then?

Avril Lavigne Launches Perfume
June 4th, 2008 by kpriss
Missed it? I didn’t, but that’s life! So this is another case of bad-singer-gone-designer now fragrance maker from reputed designer.
Procter & Gamble announced a new perfume for the second half of 2009, targeting teens. And they also said there would be more to follow (given that she applied for a patent for fragrances, aftershave, soap, deodorant, shampoo, body lotion etc) !
“Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her. (…)”It’s about finding which brands appeal to young consumers, and [which] fashion and celebrities are resonant with them.” Said Heike Hindenland, global marketing director for P & D Prestige Products.
So if you thought it was the love for perfumes that they were after, here’s one more prove that it’s just money…Looking forward to buy your teenage daughter a money-smelling perfume?

Hermès Is NOT For Sale
June 4th, 2008 by kpriss
Rumors circulate saying that Hermès would be for sale. And that Bernard Arnault believed to be interested in adding this brand to his crown.
However, either they’ve got exclusive talks with Arnault, either they just want to see how much they can raise in an eventual sale, Hermès is strongly denying rumors:
“We are indeed desirable, but we are prudent and are bent on defending our property. No takeover bid is in view.”. Let’s wait and see, shall we? Rumors are almost never without a spark of truth!
