Thursday’s Shoes Around The Blog

Have you noticed how hard it is to find an item you’re very specific about and know exactly how it should look like? That’s how I usually find myself par rapport aux shoes and jeans! I know exactly what I want, my mind is completely and hopelessly stuck on those and I can settle for nothing else!

For this season, however, I’m so determined to find a specific pair of jeans (in fact, so determined that I couldn’t find it yet!) but so dramatically undecided about shoes. The moment I believe I got an idea and I finally want to kick off the boots hunting, I immediately find myself dreaming about pumps. High heels wonders haunt my boots dreams. So I thought that maybe sharing with you my pumps dreams will set my boots inspiration free! here it goes:

YSL Black Croc pumps vs Moschino red Dorothy slippers

Just a little something to make your dreams more stiletto-beautiful!
Or maybe you’re more on the nude side
Or on the dancing side….

And if none of the above heels-side are appealing to you, maybe a little telletubies Fendi séance would be in order!
… or maybe some drops of intergalactic Galliano?
Or simply the classic ruby red choice of Dorothy from the ever magical Oz?

Alexander McQueen’s Catsuit – All That Glitter And Faint!

Everybody heard that you have to suffer for fashion! Or that you have to suffer for beauty. I don’t argue that, but I have just a little annotation:

If I have to suffer for fashion of beauty, let it be not in Alexander McQueen! For Spring Summer 2009 he chose to highlight the corset. Object of beauty and fetish, the corset can be a torture in itself. Abbey Lee Kershaw felt that on herself when she fainted on the catwalk. People said it was because of her busy schedule. Now I know it was because of the outfit. Just take a look at beautiful Jourdan in Alexander McQueen SS 2009 backstage fittings how she barely breaths, poor girl! How far would you go in suffering for fashion/beauty? (photos via ontdff) (more pictures after the jump!)

Sean Connery Ads For Louis Vuitton Core Values By Annie Leibovitz

My favorite James Bond ever got himself in a little bag trouble these days. Not only he’s still rocking gorgeous looks even after all these years and I think his style will never fade, but he’s attached to a brand so known, that you’d have to be living under rock to not have heard about it at least once.

Annie Leibovitz photographed Sir Sean Connery for Louis Vuitton’s Core Values campaign. For the occasion, there will also be a donation to the Climate Change Project on behalf of Sir Connery. Even if I’m not a fan of monogrammed goods, I do declare my amazement and beatification when I look at this ad! To me this looks nothing like the previous ads with Keith Richards or Sofia Coppolla. Which one do you like best? (via)

Coco Chanel By Douglas Kirkland Three Weeks, 40 Photos

Photographer Douglas Kirkland managed to surprise the world with 40 unseen pictures of Coco Chanel, the legend!

Kirkland’s young eye (27 years old at the time, in 1962) studied Miss Chanel for three weeks time and got so close and won Coco’s favors that he has gone where no photographer has gone before. In his mission from Look magazine, he took pictures of Mademoiselle in her private rooms, in the Versailles gardens and not only pictures of her models and her working with sketches, like he was first warned to do. His photos are on exposition in SoHo, New York, at Westwood Gallery. (via) (click thumbnails to see larger images)

Karl Lagerfeld SS 2009 Bag Vs Fake Karl Bags

I was running the virtual catwalk for Spring Summer 2009, searching for a way to proper start the SS 2009 reviews and found something I thought you should be aware of!

Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for Spring Summer 2009 was as non-colored as you can get (but I’ll save the best for the catwalk report!). Still, something drew my attention and got me thinking (yes, I know it’s fashion and I shouldn’t be doing that much thinking, but it’s my runway, the cerebral way or the high way!). Karl Lagerfeld had the models catwalking with a strange mask on their face – a bag with his face on! Few days ago I introduced you to the Fake Karl products. Who’s the Fake Karl, now?! Karl Lagerfeld’s Teachings

Just another one of those Kaiser Karl moments… few seconds of reading and then few minutes of thinking why, oh why he has to say all those dreadful things?

… it must be a designer thing. Marc Jacobs has it too! So we’re still safe. (are we?) Oh, don’t bother with such deep thinking, take a deep breath and enjoy Karl Lagerfeld’s words, he’s so fashionable! Who needs teachers when you’ve got Kaiser Karl? (via timesonline)

I don’t want to look like an old teacher. I never make serious conversation. It bores me to death. I hate that. I love knowledge for myself

When Posh Goes Swimming, She Wears These Flippers!

Now that’s a look that you could hardly forget! The flipper shoes! But no ordinary flipper shoes, no, no! We couldn’t do that for Victoria Beckham who’s unable to concentrate in flat shoes (so she says!)

High heel flipper shoes! Made by Australian Designer Lisa Carney, these High Tide Heels are one funny sight to see! There’s surely an impossibility to walk factor attached to the High Tide Heels, but if Posh can’t do it, then surely nobody would! Think about it this way – when we’ll grow tired of her neverending heights, she’ll go parade for the fish!

Posh Has A New Style Apprentice In Anne Hathaway!

Victoria Beckham, the brave, goes shopping in sky high stilettos! And not just any shopping! Toys shopping! And not alone – with her three boys! (anyone else finds this at least ridiculous or it’s just me who’s thinking high heels and three kids just don’t match?!)

She’s wearing a short orange dress (her favorite color, I guess! It shows her off from a crowd of 1000 people!) and platforms so high, I don’t dare to measure! Guess who’s popping the next day wearing similar shoes? None the other but our suffering darling Anne Hathaway who might want to show us she wasn’t diminished by her ex-boyfriend betrayal. How do you that best? By wearing incredibly high heels shoes! Now if you were wondering who signs those shoes, the opinions are divided in two camps – ones say it’s Dsquared2, others say it’s Marc Jacobs. (more images after the jump. Don’t miss the poll attached to this article, right after the pictures!)
