Pixie Geldof From Fashion Disaster To Agent Provocateur Model

I ask myself many times what makes a super model. Not the bones and height kinda question but especially what brings out a model from the average status of clothes presenter into a fashion guru. Or something similar.

Here’s another one of those cases of wait, what?-kinda model! Pixie Geldof..ahem Little Pixie Geldof, born in 1990 has always been a media darling because of her continuous and stubborn stylista tryouts on her own persona. Especially if you’re the offspring of someone really famous instantly makes you rebellious. (more after the jump)

Critics Choice Awarded Best Actress Anne Hathaway In Ferre Dress

People’s Choice was Kate Hudson while Critics Choice is Anne Hathaway. Both brides got awarded, each in her own ceremony. Even if the awards weren’t attributed for their respective roles in Bride Wars.

Anne Hathaway’s outfit for the night was an asymmetrical Gianfranco Ferre black and white dress matched with Brian Atwood peep toe pumps. I can’t decide what feelings go towards this dress, but I can’t overlook it (Anne Hathaway herself said, when asked whose dress that was “It’s Gianfranco Ferre and I don’t know, I love it cause it’s pretty.. Ha-ha”).

And if you haven’t seen her acceptance speech.. Well, you should, because only that “performance” can really top the weirdness of the dress! I can’t wait to see the movie (Rachel Getting Married) and see why people think Anne’s acting wasn’t authentic and she didn’t deserve the Critics Choice Award this year! However, getting back to the Ferre, does it look clown-ish to my eyes only? (photos via justjared)

Angelina Jolie’s Max Azria Dress For Critics Choice Awards 2009

We hardly had the time to dry the ink from the People’s Choice Awards articles and here we are at it again, for another Red Carpet madness. This time, it’s VH1’s 14th edition of Critics Choice Awards.

Angelina was there for Changeling, Brad for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. They both were nominated but won none. Instead, we were granted with a happy picture of two people in love (or at least by Hollywood standards), both looking radiant and doing what they know best – looking good.

This time only, Angelina Jolie ditched her trademark black for an iced one shouldered floor length Max Azria dress. Along with her favorite Stuart Weitzman shoes (this time in butter satin) plus a rock-alike-clutch from Herve Leger she paired her usual pearls to the simple outfit and that was it – a complete stunner.

Though she looked like ready for some tranquil wedding Angie looked good enough to cast a happiness spell around her and her partner. I confess I love the pearl ring she’s wearing (like the earrings, signed Mikimoto) but that’s about all “I love” from Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Critics Choice Awards 2009.. What about you? (you can see a closeup of Angelina’s Mikimoto jewelry right after the jump) (via)

Danny Aiello And Bruce Willis Swinging On A Star From Hudson Hawk

Would you like to swing on a star? I could make this post with just the words of the song cause they’ll work wonderful!

Originally written by Jimmy Van Heusen and Johnny Burke and sung by Bing Crosby with the St Mitchell Boys Choir in the movie Going My Way, this beautiful song is like a piano fable. But nothing can match Danny Aiello’s great voice alongside Bruce Willis’ playful mood and the contradiction between the “You can be better than you are” tagline of the song and the thief motif from Hudson Hawk. Oh, but what am I doing, philosophic around this great piece of Friday Break? Just enjoy! (and sing along, if you wish, you have the words right after the jump, as well as Bing Crosby’s original Swinging on a Star!)

Jessica Alba Sets Mid Lenght Style The It Haircut For 2009

Jessica Alba joins the ranks of the mi-length haircuts ranks. Not really a sudden and radical change because she was seen sporting those heavy bangs before, but it’s a change nonetheless, so now I’m wondering why everyone’s oriented towards mid-length haircuts.

Given that short hair was the It haircut for 2008, would Jessica Alba announce the mid-length haircut as the new must in hair trends for 2009? Personally, I’m not a fan of in-between haircuts (on in-between anything, for the matter). I think that a haircut reaching the shoulder line and going just 1 inch further it’s not a haircut per se. Is it safe to call this the 2009 haircut? (photos via justjared)

Debra Messing’s People’s Choice Awards Gray Dress

It’s not sure why Debra Messing decided to go for a wide-hip bauble-ish dress, but she really Mess-ed this People’s Choice Red Carpet!

Sure it’s trendy, it’s the new it, but it also looks highly risqué and that shows! She surely has no reason whatsoever to camouflage her body like that and the occasion called for celebration, not for a dark colored dress. I have, however, searched the designers files and didn’t found who signed the hippy bauble-ish dress. I thought it was Dolce & Gabbana but … who was it? (photos via celebutopia)

Jessica Stroup’s Herve Leger For People’s Choice Awards

This has got to be filed as another one of those bad Herve Leger cases… Jessica Stroup, one of the new 90210 girls wears a purple/blue/green bandage dress with a bandage-rose detail.

If that rose wasn’t there, the dress still would’ve had its chances. But with that gray bandage budding up from underneath the skirt and matching gray sandals she did a mediocre appearance. Not that 90210 did better for the awards, but for out eyes sake, wasn’t she safer wearing something else? (photos via justjared)

UPDATE: I just received a tip about Jessica’s ring and earrings – they’re signed by Jude Frances and you can see the pieces in detail right after the jump! (thanks, Emily!)

People’s Choice Awarded Kate Hudson, Favorite Leading Lady

Yesterday we talked about Bride Wars and Kate Hudson, today I’m pleased to announce that Kate Hudson received the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Leading Lady.

She gave a rather blurry acceptance speech, but let’s just rejoice for the Awards Season is officially on a roll! The Red Carpet was unleashed. What makes the People’s Choice Awards a special moment in the Red Carpet Awards season is the people’s participation. Not only in a voting (hopefully decisive) manner, but also in the actual ceremony. Speeches are interactive. Or most of them should be. And that authenticity is something rare for a pretentious awards night. Now back to the Favorite Leading Lady, Kate Hudson. She did another amazing dress appearance, this time with an electric blue one shouldered Gucci dress with Giuseppe Zanotti platform sandals. Matched to the point of hurting my eyes, was it a beautiful choice for the PCA night? (photos via justjared)
