Ocean’s Twelve Nikkfurie Thé à la Menthe

I was a big fan of Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven. So, naturally, when Ocean’s Twelve came out, I was more than enthusiast. Saw the movie without breathing and discovered a bit more than just the beautiful movie: Nikkfurie Thé à la menthe.

The laser scene from the movie became something I could just play and rewind and then play again (if I remember it right, the same song was also featured at the end of the film, for the credits).

Nikkfurie is actually a member of the French band “La Caution” and he was entirely responsible for this piece of instrumental music. The scene that you’re about to see is from Ocean’s 12, the Laser Dance as done by Night Fox, Mr Vincent Cassel (some say, with capoeira moves, but I’m no specialist so I wouldn’t actually know that). It’s not everyday that you can wear a bag that was created for the luxury brand Assouline. Known mostly for their luxury editions books, Assouline’s gift line are not to be neglected since it’s still about the same name of de luxe publishing. Usually revolving around books and stationery, this time they’re reaching out for leather accessories.

Liya Kebede is one of my favorite models ever. There’s something about her that’ll always make me feel peaceful when looking at that modest but in the same time completely mind blowing beauty.

She entered the St. John ad campaign (the same St. John with Angelina Jolie as spokesface for the last few seasons) for Spring Summer 2009. Alongside charming Liya are Alexandra Tomlison and Hana Soukupova.

I wanted to point the solitary individuals from the St John advertising threesome: Ethiopian Liya carries the left side all alone while the two other girls (Caucasian) are granted the right side of the ad print. Is it just me, or the three girls look like cleverly photoshop-merged in one poster? (photo via tfs)

Eco consciousness is the trendiest attitude around! Don’t let anyone tell you different! If there’s any doubt on that one, just think about those terrific boots made from recycled plastic bags!

Entering the recycling reflex – a very interesting contest initiated by Remade (in Chile) took place in November and targeted design students who were demanded to create products using Puma trainers.

The contest’s results were exhibited from November 37 until December 4 so everyone could have the chance to see there’s life after sneakers. The first prize was awarded to a lamp made of reclaimed Puma sample trainers, the second prize went to a corseted dress, my favorite was the third prize with bugs made from trainers. What could be better than talking about Katie Holmes and have an excellent news about her surfacing the very same day? Katie Holmes, a Miu Miu girl! Who would’ve thought? But I guess Miu Miu has a thing about child-women (remember Vanessa’s Miu Miu?)

They booked her for the Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign, we made our speculations some time ago, now we finally have an image for that photo shoot! Mert and Marcus worked with Katie on a Fellini-esque image, something luminous, mysterious and theatrical.

To me eyes, she still looks like a little girl playing mum and ravishing mum’s closet (and makeup case). I really can’t take her (that) seriously!

However, being published the same day, I can’t help but comparing Katie’s Miu Miu image with Armani’s Victoria Beckham. They both look theatrical but I really do prefer Posh for being more convincing and more grown up than Katie’s fierce yet empty feline look.
