Uma Thurman For Givenchy

Uma Thurman GivenchyGivenchy gets another star to talk perfume to the people: Uma Thurman was chosen to be the spokesface of another Givenchy perfume that’s set for this Fall. My Pulp Fiction-Uma longing has to settle for a Givenchy perfume ad. Oh, well, maybe they’ll get Tarantino to style a video, who knows? (WWD, photo via Myspace)

Guns’n’Roses Sweet Child O’Mine

I heard that Guns’n’Roses wrote this song in five minutes. That’s about what happened to me when I though about this week’s beloved Friday Break: it just came out of nowhere, fillin’ my lungs with ‘Roses air!

Guns’n’Roses. Sweet Child o’Mine. Brings back sweet memories? (you already know I’m a rocker at heart, this is just another pretext to manifest my rockin’ spirit!) Enjoy! (more about the song right after the jump!)

Forget Harajuku And Cosplay, Here’s Japanese Goth!

The Japanese Fashion scene is a most interesting theatre for the far-lookers. I’m far rom being a specialist in all things Harajuku and Cosplay but it seems a new trend has developed in the backstages of Japanese Street Style: the Japanese Goth.

Being a special mix, it cannot be reduced the old boundaries of Gothic. The Japanese Goth tea is a special infusion of Goth Lolitas and Goth Punk with a special Visual-kei scent. (the story continues right after the jump! Don’t miss the gallery with pictures from the Japanese Goth book by Tiffany Godoy)

Sony Vaio Gets Crocodile Skin!

How to differentiate a fashionista’s computer from any other? First, a fashionista doesn’t have a desktop, she owns a laptop. It’s slick, easy to carry, easy to interact with.

Then, a fashionista’s laptop has to have a significant fashion twist, a stylish detail that would set her laptop a part from all other tehcstuff around. Sony thought of that and they made the special VAIO P series. And now they proudly introduce the Crocodile skin Sony VAIO C-series (up to 500GB hard, Core 2 Duo processors, up to 8GB of RAM). Britney Spears Candie’s 2009

From the iconic pair of Candie wood bottom slides from the eighties to Britney Spears isn’t a clear path. I could, of course, force a chronological relation with Britney’s early years (she’s born in 1981, the same year the Candie wood slides came to light), but where would all the Brit-fun be?

However, Candie’s choice for their 2009 ad campaign puzzles me: they say Britney Spears is a performer/personality girls (from allover the country) look up to. Wait, what? (the story continues right after the jump, don’t miss the gallery with Britney’s Candie’s ads and the videos and the unretouched photos from the Update, right after the video!)

Associated Press Goes Thieves Hunting!

Associated Press logoThe mighty Associated Press goes on a Quixote-ish hunt chasing down the “misappropriation of the news on the internet”! We’re behind you 100%, AP! “We can no longer stand by and watch others walk off with our work” neither! But it’s the unprofessional way of the Internet! Ask LVMH, they’re fighting eBay since forever now! (via AnimalNY)

Jeremy Scott And Adidas 2009 Collection

Following the huge success they had with the winged shoes, Adidas continues the series of designs signed by Jeremy Scott.

Not as surprising as the winged Adidas, the new ones look simpler, bidding more on the details than on the overall shock factor. Hence the neon three striped shoe with double tongue, the graphic black and white print (it’s hardly an unseen motif) and some lateral buckles assorti with xlongue tongs for others. (the story continues after the jump, don’t miss the rest of the pictures!)
