Charlize Theron For Vogue Spain June 2009
May 28th, 2009 by kpriss
The first thing that came to my mind when seeing these pictures of Charlize Theron from Vogue Spain June 2009 was Dior’s last mystery-commercial. The undeniable similarities between Charlize’s ambiance and set for this pictorial could be interpreted as Dior-flattery (if looked at as imitation) or cliché photography story.
Even if Charlize (a Dior fan herself) could easily pull a Lady Noire affair anyday, I’m still curious to know why they included a pictorial of such darkness in that lovely June/July issue of Vogue Spain (and it’s even called “It happened in Paris”)! Isn’t it too much of a Dior-coincidence? (more photos after the jump!) (photos via)

Skinny Jeans Bad For Your Health!
May 28th, 2009 by kpriss
Still wearing skinny jeans? You should be aware of two things: they’re called skinny for a reason! two: they’re bad for your health! US Doctors warn skinny jeansers about Meralgia Paresthethica, a painful condition of the LFCN (lateral femoral cutaneous nerve passing through your thigh). The burning, tingling sensation of the leg could disappear if wearing the appropriate clothes for your weight/constitution. Need more to ditch those skinny jeans? (Grazia)
Elie Tahari’s Phat Cycles Bike
May 28th, 2009 by kpriss
Is that the recession’s doing or what? Elie Tahari glamed up a Phat Cycles bicycle for your own fashionista eco-pleasure!
It’s not like we wouldn’t want a gorgeous toned body for Summer and an environmental-friendly routine! Named Elie Tahari Main Street Bicycle (yes, like in Elie Tahari’s East Hampton boutique address!), the new glam bike goes on store early June and costs $900! A true bargain, given that this special Phat Cycles fashionista bike comes with leopard print accents previewed in Elie Tahari’s fall 2009 collection, handlebars and saddle in camel colored leather. I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike! Would you? (of course that doesn’t have to be a Phat animal-print Tahari but don’t tempt me, or I’ll bring out my graffiti self and paint a leopard out of any bike!) (via)
Gisele Bundchen’s Versace Fall Winter 2009 Ad Campaign
May 28th, 2009 by kpriss
Gisele Bundchen is Versace faithful. Her Versace ad campaign for Fall Winter 2009 2010 is, however, a tasteless déjà vu with poses/photos outstandingly similar to Versace’s Spring Summer 2008 campaign (starring our very same Gisele).
Baby bump or not, Gisele (or anyone) could pull those ads like a wonder! Let’s call it dangerous economy or bad advertising, Versace’s fall winter 2009 ads with Gisele (photographed by Mario Testino) really are disappointing! (and what’s with the blue soles? Isn’t it too YSL Tribute, another fall 2008 big hit?) (photo via)
Lagerfeld’s Dying Swan
May 27th, 2009 by kpriss
Karl Lagerfeld designed The Dying Swan’s most impressive costume from different feathers (3 women and over 100 hours of work into that unique Chanel tutu) The dress hits the stage at Sadler’s Wells, London June 16th and the Gran Teatro del Liceu, Barcelona September (besides Elena Glurdjidze exclusive performance for Lagerfeld in Chanel’s Haute Couture Salon). Because wearing Chanel is so Beyond death! (Chanel via WWD)

Scarlett Johansson’s Mango Fall 2009 Ads
May 27th, 2009 by kpriss
Mango advertisers are so inspired by Woody Allen that they decided Scarlett Johansson should be their next spokesface for Fall Winter 2009 2010. Rumor has it that she’s following Penelope Cruz steps in representing Mango but who knows if the Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona stars won’t be photographed together?
Also, by looking at the first pictures (by Mario Sorrenti), I have to ask: when were those taken? Because lately Scarjo is wearing her hair red and still shoulders length! (that means there will be no more Penelope & Monica Cruz collection for Mango?) (via)

Ruffles Shoes From Louboutins Philip Lim To Asos
May 27th, 2009 by kpriss
A catwalk ripoff isn’t generally limited to one or two versions, especially if we’re dealing with highlighted designers. Christian Louboutin’s collaboration with Philip Lim has created a wave of ruffles in a sea of shoes!
Everybody’s ruffling their sandals these days! Asos and Pour La Victoire created their own version of the Louboutin-Lim ruffled beauty and just the other day, I saw a green suede flat ruffled sandal chez Zara.(the story continues right after the jump)
Rafael Nadal Does Vogue June 2009
May 27th, 2009 by kpriss
Vogue’s June/July 2009 issue might look light on the outside, but behold! There’s a heavy Feature Story to it!
Rafael Nadal photos by Bruce Weber spice up an interview with the tennis champ. (don’t get your hopes up, there’s almost nothing personal disclosed in the interview, it’s mainly tennis!) Now, can someone tell me why would Anna choose to take on Rafael Nadal and not highlight her official tennis crush, protégé Roger Federer? That’s a summer mystery to me! Is she playing both camps? (more pictures after the jump!) (via 1, 2)
