Inez Van Lamsweerde And Vinoodh Matadin Pretty Much Everything
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Now if you think those earlier 4 minutes were wasted on Daisy Lowe’s video, then consider double or nothing! It’s the fashion game, only this time we’re taking out the big guns: Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin talking about Pretty Much Everything. Their photography exhibition following their iconic work throughout 25 years of fruitful photographic career.
This has been brought to my attention by our dear friend, Adriana (thank you!) and it’s really worth your time. Organized by Foam Fotografie Museum Amsterdam, the exhibition prequels a “Pretty Much Everything” book which will come out next year with the iconic works of Inez and Vinoodh.
I’m a point-and-shoot girl, I don’t mind much the exposure and the aperture when taking a picture (thank heavens for autofocus!). However, my Adored Husband really pays attention to this kind of things and every time he takes a photograph, I’m thoroughly convinced aperture and exposure are some kind of Potter-pulled spells to make photos look unearthly beautiful. That’s how magical the world of photography really is to me. How about you? Relying on autofocus cameras, like yours truly?
Mary Kate Olsen’s Marie Claire September 2010
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Is there something in the air pushing magazine editors to have not one, not two, but at least three different covers for the same issue? Just asking… Why? Well because here’s Mary-Kate Olsen on the cover of Marie Claire September 2010. On all three covers!
Army girl, glam sequins girl or furry fury, Mary Kate tries it all, hoping at least one of her cover instances will be on your liking. The most interesting thing is that the media has taken one phrase out of the interview context and blasted it all over the news: Mary Kate said about her child star past (alongside twin-sister Ashley) that they were “little monkey performers”. Now that’s supposed to bring on some audience and raise the sales, if not anything else. (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)

Daisy Lowe’s Style Confessions
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
It’s been a while since we last mentioned Daisy Lowe. How about if we caught up with that Lowe-hiatus and watch an entire video with her talking about her style? It’ll only take 4 minutes and change. What she could have had to say for an entire 4 minutes video? Watch and hear for yourself!
All I’ll say is that I’ve pretty much had it with enfants terribles, children of someone famous who climb up the ladder just because of that someone famous in their pedigree. Anyone truly original out there? Who’s becoming noteworthy on its own merit? (via)
Cameron Diaz And Tom Cruise Do Harper’s Bazaar Japan September 2010
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Have you seen Knight and Day? I haven’t, so please don’t spoil the fun – we intend to make a home cinema soiree sometime with this one… Not because we think it’s that special, but because we think it’s not worth the trouble of calling the four winds and the mighty fairies to babysit our busy crowd while we treat ourselves with a Tom Cruise movie (which made the critics council Mr. Cruise to give up acting). But that’s another story altogether.
Now getting back to Knight and Day. Why? Because its power couple (don’t they look at least 10 years younger?) : Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise cover Harper’s Bazaar September 2010. The Japan edition. Does it make any sense to you? Except cover – marketing? (HB via)

Stella McCartney’s Postal Cards Lingerie
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
Honestly, what were you thinking at when your read the title? Stella McCartney’s lingerie has that childish funky spirit to it, pretty similar to the one it’s being fired at us from the Fall Winter campaign.
How else would we wholeheartedly embrace a handmade like made lingerie with big cities symbols on? It’s so playful. And joyful? “From Paris with Love”, “From New York with Love” and so on. Paris day, NY day, London Day. And why not, after all? (via)
Gisele Bundchen Does Harper’s Bazaar UK September 2010
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
From Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar it’s only a small step. And Gisele Bundchen on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK September 2010 fails to produce a huge surprise. Or impression, for that matter.
She’s Gisele. Everyone expects her to be gorgeous, to stand tall and beautiful, breathtakingly delivering everything from fashion to babies. And so she does. With a little help from Cedric Buchet’s lenses, Gisele dons a stunning black and white pictorial. Would you have expected less than professional, served ice cold from Gisele? Trussardi Fringed Plaid Sneakers
August 10th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s this fringe fashion thing going these days. Roman sandals, greek-ish shoes, summer Indian boots. That’s what I came up with in just few moments, I’m sure you’ll come up with more!
However, I was hardly expecting to see fringed sneakers! Natural progression, you say? I say it’s quite a fussy sneaker if you take it out and it suddenly rains and pours on you. Otherwise, these wool tartan sneakers with leather fringes from Trussardi’s fall winter 2010 2011 collection look just great. For a $569,88 pair of sneakers, that is. Or how they like to put it “a good compromise”. Would you make this particular fringey compromise?
Julia Roberts Does Elle September 2010
August 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Aren’t you just a little bit curious to see Eat Pray Love? I am, I really am! I mean I’ve seen Inception, what can go wrong? Especially with a movie that was made after a best selling book about women and their ways through life. It could be far more interesting than a book about women and their passion for clothes, shoes and so on. Right?
Part of the marketing campaign, is of course, this Elle US September 2010 feature with Julia Roberts. Four different covers, at least three different photographers and an inside spread worthy of Vogue. (click through to discover more, click here for the gallery!)
