Perfectly Dressed For Dinner

Are you familiar with the works of Marianne Van Ooij? I have the feeling you’ll find her creations very interesting! Take this ceramics set for instance!

Suggestively entitled “Dressed for Dinner”, this ceramic dinner set brings out the social conventions on a plate. Dining isn’t just about the food, it’s also about socializing. Socializing is all about appearances. Why wouldn’t you wear your appearance on a plate? The idea goes further than the simple dinner table aesthetics, I think it adds a smile to the dinner constraints. I’d love to have a set, wouldn’t you? Too bad they’re only prototypes (for now). Christian Louboutin Cookie Shoes Collection

Talking about shoes earlier reminded me about these sugar bites I saw (plus I really needed a comfort zone to counterattack those ill fitting shoes memories). I found them pretty irresistible, not to mention so close to reality, I couldn’t bring myself to actually eat them!

Yes, they’re cookies! And yes, they’re Louboutins, daahlings! What do you prefer – wearing them Louboutins or eating them? Look at those tiny wonders! They even got the Louboutin label writings on the inside! How extraordinary is that? (thinking about the pain inflicted by an ill fitting pair of stilettos, I think I’ll opt for the sugar version, regardless the calories!)

Anne Hathaway’s Elle UK December 2010

Why would anyone get a magazine cover (be it fashion or other) lately unless they have a new movie coming up? Why is anyone beyond the big / small screen even relevant?

Anne Hathaway’s Elle UK December 2010 cover moment is brought to her (and us) by her new movie (On Love ….). Which is perfectly fine with me, a fast fashion consumer, movie fan and contemporary celeb press loyal. What about those who have higher expectation from a so-called fashion magazine? What are they suppose to do? What are they supposed to buy? (if there’s one thing – besides the golden Balmain dress – truly positive about this UK Elle December 2010 cover , it’s the moderate amount of cover text and its placement) (Elle via)

How Comfortable Are Your Shoes?

How many pairs of comfortable shoes do you own? I mean really really comfy, the kind you could spend the night dancing and marching in? So naturally I’m not talking about flat shoes – oh, no! I’m talking about those highly covetable stilettos or towering heels you’ve fallen madly deeply in love with!

Either the heels bringing you misery, either the straps cutting your foot’s delicate skin with every step, those shoes we love so much put us through hell. And we’re happy to put up with that as long as we’re in fashion. Aren’t we? It appears that more than 3 Million British women have received medical care because of their shoes! How irrational is that?

How far are you willing to go for a pair of ill fitting but oh-so damn good looking and fashionable shoes? (I had to put up with a pair of fire red peep toe pumps for few hours – at the end of those grueling few hours, I had bleeding blisters on my feet – I tossed them in the back of my closed and they remained there ever since.)

Doutzen Kroes Wedding: The Bride Wore Pronovias

Today’s main news subject is, biensur, Doutzen Kroes’ wedding. She had a really quiet, small wedding this very Sunday in her hometown (Eastermar, the Netherlands).

Charming Doutzen and her now – husband, Sunnery James got married in a very intimate ceremony with no more than 30 friends and family. The bride’s wedding dress was impeccably white and simple, signed Pronovias (though I have a weakness for her bouquet – truly gorgeous!) and she was adorably pregnant and smiling. Isn’t she quite a sunny sight for such autumnal weather? Congrats to the happy couple! (click through for more!) (photos via 1, 2, thank you Adriana!)

Bright Outfits For Cold Days?

I was wondering – even if I love dressing my kids in vivid, bright colors, any season, would I take the bright risk when it comes to my own wardrobe? Especially during the cold season? Would I feel cheered up, warmed up if I’d be dressed in bright fuchsia? Eye – scorching orange? Head turning electric blue?

I found this little example to illustrate my point: this fashionable young man dressed in a purple suit, blindness inducing white shirt, blue bow tie aaaaand, the bag! Look at that bag! There’s nothing quite like it! Not even the purple suit! So how do you treat bold colors in winter? Toss them in the wardrobe oblivion till summer comes back or… (cast your vote right after the image!) (photo Stylescout)

Marilyn Monroe’s Haircut, Still Fashionable

If you thought the latest trends reports – just like yours truly – know that we may have been mislead: it seems the pixie short auburn hair is not that popular after all. To my deepest regret.

Highly praised are the golden locks still. And reports are making the rounds of the Interwebs with proof this image. The Marilyn Monroe legendary bob cut has finally made it big. Pass the human world, that’s how big! I’m waiting for the first extraterrestrial reports corroborating to that universal truth – Marilyn Monroe’s haircut is the most haircut of all times! Of all times! (Mirror via)

Cher’s Vanity Fair December 2010

Vanity Fair’s passion with stars du passé is becoming increasingly blatant with yet another cover – this time it’s the December 2010 issue with Cher. Forgotten legends, dusty idols, fear not, your Vanity Fair time will come!

So Cher is back. Was she ever gone? Was she even “here” anymore? Underneath all that scalpel sculpted frozen plastic body is there anything real left? Cher has her new movie to promote – Burlesque so she takes the cover for all the marketing-right reasons. However, I wish there was more Burlesque to this cover than Cher. Where’s Christina? (there’s a short behind the scenes video right after the jump, don’t miss it!) (VF via)
