The Selby Asos Holiday 2010 Ad Campaign

Black Friday oblige! What have you got your eyes on for the Holidays? I was perusing the fashoutlets and came across few maxi dresses (you know, like, totally my favorite clothing items eveeer-aah) I liked. And then it hit me – I saw this great ad campaign for Asos (yes, incidentally, the very site where I was admiring those maxi dresses). And there I go, sharing the wonderful Selby campaign for Asos.

It’s magically photographed in models homes, actual model homes, surrounded by their everyday objects. It’s a great campaign, in my perspective, because it humanizes the models and the clothes, making both more accessible and more tangible. It’s a fashion credibility campaign, royally orchestrated by The Selby and Asos. Doesn’t it look great? (The Selby via)

Maison Martin Margiela Paper Pants And Shoes

This sure looks interesting, what do you say? It looks like paper, it wears like paper, it must be paper, right? I’m not sure if this look is actually an authentic paper cut, what I’m sure of, however, is that being a Maison Martin Margiela creation, it could just as well be paper.

Risible or preciously fashionable, the Margiela paper look is pretty impressive for an outsider like me. I feel such an irresistible want to touch and fold those shoes! Can anyone confirm they’re actually made of real paper? And the pants too? (photo Jak and Jil)

Holidays Windows Magic Bergdorf Goodman

And a little bit of Christmas magic for today! Offered by the amazingly creative and extraordinarily dedicated people from Bergdorf Goodman, here’s how they cast the windows spells!

With hard work and tons of imagination, each window tells a different Holiday story. Painted, crafted and dressed up like a page of a winter fashion fairy tale, the Bergdorf Goodman windows could actually keep you in front of the store, captivated and trapped in the carefully designed windows spell. Don’t you just love Christmas windows? (via)

Rihanna Covers Interview December 2010

For all of you wanting a bit of sunshine in this otherwise perfectly charming winter debut, here’s Rihanna’s December 2010 cover. Flowery and colorful, you wouldn’t believe this is a December cover (photographed by Mikael Jansson). Then again, maybe that’s what makes it charming and irresistible?

I admit I count myself among those who believe that today’s musical scene is more about image than it is about actual music and talent, so I bow before Rihanna’s perpetually intriguing and edgy appearance. She really knows how to trigger one’s interest even outside her actual profession. Plus she makes a pretty cover, doesn’t she? (via)

The Scent Of Anna Dello Russo Ad

I’m curious about this one! Despite the obvious good and artistically innocent, aesthetically flawless intentions, the new video for Anna Dello Russo’s perfume is all kinds of odd.

I keep on pressing the play button and watch it again and again. And each time I get such a storming feeling making me want to be an ad police officer. And plaster Anna Dello Russo with a speed ticket! There’s no way she could induce a fairy tale atmosphere walking around so quickly! It’s a video suited for real estate purposes more than anything. Yes, you have a fabulous apartment. And yes, you have fabulous shoes! And jewelry. And um.. what’s that tiny shoe-like recipient? A perfume? Ummm… (via)

High Heels Still In For 2011

So they said nobody will want to wear high heels anymore. And they also said this will be the year of the mid heel. Well, they were wrong!

Sales for ultra high heels have quadrupled for the Kurt Geiger label! Despite of the obvious suffering and impracticality of a towering high heel, women like to play on the dangerous side of fashion. They didn’t went for mid heel shoes as predicted by stylists and designers, and, to be honest, I couldn’t be more proud of my fellow fashionistas who vote for the high heels! Skyskrapers power! Where’s your loyalty? High or mid? (below is Olivia Palermo wearing one high heeled pair of Kurt Geiger shoes) (via)

It Gets Better Dixit Pixar

I’d like to start today by saying that no matter where you are, It Gets Better! That no matter how you’re feeling, It Gets Better! That no matter how hard things look like, It Gets Better!

It’s an eight minute short video from the magical people at Pixar fighting the gay and lesbian fight. An eight minute short video that will completely melt your heart. Because it makes no difference if you’re gay or not, human emotions remain the same and our hearts have been basically built the same way. And you have to remember: It Gets Better!
