Marc Jacobs Fall Winter 2011 2012 Collection

I was expecting a fun collection from Marc Jacobs this Fall Winter 2011 2012 season. Fun to wear, not just fun to watch. Because, in my opinion, Marc‘s latest collection was more entertaining to look at than to actually put on.

However, if we’re to trust the past seasons experience, Marc Jacobs sets the tone for everything else in fashion – couture houses and fast fashion chains will follow into his footsteps come this fall, as always. So what are we to expect next? polka dots. Bidimensional, tridimensional polka dots. Lace and latex, wedges and tiny hats. How do you like it?

Rumors circulate and if we were to believe them, then Emma Watson, the lovely Harry Potter English rose has been proposed by Lancome to act as their spokesface.

Naturally, reading both Emma Watson and Lancome in the same paragraph, my attention was summoned. At such a rate I actually see the deal happening. Emma could benefit from this campaign since she changed her look. Radically, I might add. And she (again, these are just speculations) would want the world to see the new Emma Watson and not the old Emma Watson cum Hermione.

Lancome, on the other hand, said to have hired Mario Testino for the job and they would proudly like to add Emma to their celebrity lineup (need I remind you that Julia Roberts or Penelope Cruz have had lucrative deals with Lancome?). So. Will it happen?

Also: if Emma will wear her Bafta face for the Lancome ads, it’ll be a certified flop! (via)

Yes, yes, you may ask why she’s so relevant right now, after not having done anything remotely related to her original career (which is…singing? She was primarily known as an actress, after all). But the truth is that Jennifer Lopez has become a household name. She’s there because she’s part of the scenery, part of the culture already. She’s Jenny from the Block, ya know?

And like a true Jenny from the Block, Jennifer Lopez brings us the new Gillette Venus Commercial, because “Every woman has an inner Goddess. A feeling of confidence, strength, inner sparkle and outer fabulous“.

Also – Jennifer Lopez’s new album comes out March 29th and it’s called “Love?”. (just one question, though – why she insist in showing off her kids in her commercials?)

I’m starting my Fall Winter 2011 2012 “coverage” with Victoria Beckham’s collection. She’s not your certified designer, but she surely is one whose signature clothes you’ll be seeing very often on all kind of celebrities.

I was surprised to see the show opening with a handful of very bright and vivid colors palette. I checked again – yes, it’s the Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection. And it’s colorful. And I’m loving it! The way I see it, Vicky managed to squeeze right between Herve Leger’s iconic bandage dresses silhouette and a kind of made – for – the – red – carpet casual look. Women love her clothes, apparently, so Victoria Beckham’s fashion label seems to be here to stay. (click through for more images and videos of the fashion show!)

Why not? You love your faithful pair of Converse, don’t you? You dog loves them too! And not just for chewing purposes!

There’s a new poodle in town. And he’s wearing sneakers! blue, mind you, coz he’s a boy! Proudly coiffed and brushed, he’s preciousss! now as far as you’re concerned, would you put shoes on your dog’s paws? Are they really useful? Do you ask yourself what could you teach your children if you were to have any? I do. I asked myself this question quite some time ago, when I was pregnant with my eldest boy. Four kids later I still ask myself this question. And I don’t mind. It’s good to always question yourself. And I’m always learning, evolving, so my teachings do the same.

Take a peek inside your closet : are those the clothes you really want to wear? All those the colors you really love and care to put on? The shoes you felt your heart melting over? The scarves you dreamed of wearing and nothing else? The bags you sworn to carry and nothing more? Did you surround yourself with things that make you smile, that make you happy?

You don’t have to answer all those questions right now. Just take a look at the picture below. And yes, I did start with the “conclusion”. But it’s not wrong – it’s because it’s where you want to be. You want to Live your Dream and Wear your Passion. Don’t you? (via)

Catching up after the V Day weekend, the Red Carpet madness that ensued, now it’s finally time to get my Fashion Week fix. Cause you know, fall winter 2011 2012 ain’t here right now and I can have a fashionable delay while e – attending the shows. Can’t I?

However, before I even had a chance to treat the actual Fashion Show catwalk, my eyes were hurt by a severe case of Style Disaster! A foursome of gorgeous ladies all posing happily in front of the Tommy Hilfiger panels. From left to right: Bella Heathcote, Rosario Dawson, Petra Nemcova and Rose Byrne. Now, as far as the first three goes, they can get by with a simple meh for Petra, sparkling beautiful for Rosario and evening corporate cocktail for Bella.

Rose Byrne is another story altogether. Have you noticed something strange, disturbingly strange about her outfit? Oh yes! You can see the care label on the side! How annoying is that? I mean literally – can you take your eyes off it? I can’t! It’s one of those style don’t, so take note please! Whenever you buy a transparent item of clothing – chop the label off. Write on it what item came from and store it on the very hanger or near you washing machine (if it’s washable). Anywhere works better than on the actual outfit!

Also – Rose, we can’t see you bra, but we definitely see the care label of your blouse. Do something! (photo via)

For some unknown reason (yes, except the obvious that she’s heavenly beautiful), I like Anna Beatriz Barros so much I cannot understand why she’s not doing more fashion shoots. She should be in every magazine from here to the North Pole! The girl looks so hot, it could induce a severe ice melting up there!

Oh, anyway, back to what brought me to this image – her cool biker chic, a la Grease’s Olivia Newton – John? A modern interpretation using the a Miu Miu leather jacket with floral details and a black jersey swimsuit from OMO Norma Kamali. Oh, and the patent leather sandals by Manolo Blahnik! I doubt any biker could resist such a beauty!
