Saskia De Brauw Vogue Paris March 2011, Carine Roitfeld’s Last Issue
March 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
I couldn’t help but notice Saskia de Brauw during the handful of fashion shows I “reviewed” from the Fall Winter 2011 2012 Fashion Weeks. She seemed to have had some of the most wonderful outfits of the catwalk. At least for me.
If that’s a marketing gimmick to pop Saskia more in the fashpeople eyes, it’s working. Carine could have pulled on some strings to make it happen. Why? Because there she goes, Saskia de Brauw on the cover of Vogue Paris March 2011. The last issue under Carine Roitfeld‘s editorial scepter at Vogue Paris.
Who Is Andrej Pejic?
March 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
We get to see quite a bit of Andrej Pejic so it’s no wonder that a profile has been made and an interview has been taken. Andrej is the next big thing.
He’s got that androgynous look everyone is looking for right now in the fashion industry. To put in bad jokes terms, like he did, maybe not everyone has the money to hire both men and women so they take Andrej. Who can be quite versatile and pretty surprising when it comes to acting masculine or feminine. So who is Andrej after all? Is a Serbian born, Australia raised young man who’s the fancy of all fashion people right now. Which one do you prefer? Lea or Andrej? (via)
Sandra Bullock’s Red Vera Wang Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Looking through the dresses I included in my Red Carpet perspective over the 2011 Oscars I realized something was missing! So here’s Sandra Bullock proudly joining the red hues club at the Oscars tonight!
Her red dress is signed by Vera Wang and, though it looks divine on Sandra, I wish I could see more of bohemian chic Sandra rather than this YSL – woman she’s portraying tonight. Every time I see a strong red lipped woman with a fierce stature and proud walk, I can’t think of anything else but the YSL woman. And though I’m convinced Sandra is a very strong woman, I prefer her looking more feminine and vulnerable. How about you? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Maria Menounos In Black Johanna Johnson Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
And finally, here’s a black dress on the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet (we’ve seen Reese wearing a black dress before, true, but it wasn’t technically an all black)! Worn by Maria Menounos, the one sleeved velvet black dress was signed by Johanna Johnson and complimented Maria’s body frame.
She also opted for some truly sparkling jewelry and a pretty big hairdo. Luckily, she accessorized all that with an impeccable smile, ready to carry all the glory her fashion choices failed to bring. Is it just me, or that heavy hand jewelry does anything except match the dress? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)
Marisa Tomei’s Blue Vintage Charles James Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Marisa Tomei has also opted for a dark deep blue dress for the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Only instead of falling for the latest designers collection, she chose a vintage 1950 couture dress from Charles James (from Lily et Cie). A while back, Penelope Cruz opted for a white vintage Pierre Balmain dress for the Oscars Red Carpet, so you might as well go on and say that vintage is de rigueur for the Oscar wardrobe.
Accessorizing her dress, Marisa was wearing Van Cleef and Arpels jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes. Though I admit it’s a dress I saw more fit for the Met’s American Costume Institute gala, I admire Marisa’s choice and her originality. I’m sure there wasn’t anyone dressed like her tonight! Amy Adams In Blue L’Wren Scott Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
The second L’Wren Scott dress comes from Amy Adams who opted for a dark blue sequined gown from the Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection (if you’re not wearing sequins tonight, you’re not Red Carpet ready!)
Though she said she was in no hurry to shed the baby weight, Amy looked impeccably slender and perfectly fashionable on the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Her wavy hair and the emerald green jewelry were perfectly coordinated in her overall look. Such a sweet, gorgeous lady, such a lovely smile! Reese Witherspoon In Black And White Armani Prive Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Reese Witherspoon was the picture of classic elegance in her black and white dress for the 2011 Oscars Red Carpet. Part of the Armani Prive Fall 2009 couture collection, the dress was a perfect choice for Reese.
So was her hair and her attitude. I’m definitely loving her Oscars night attire and I think she was one of the best dressed tonight. Classic black dress, sure, a safe choice, but a wonderful result (and with Reese and her lbd we make the transition from the red and beige / silver hues to more classical dress choices). It seems that Haute Couture was the favorite sartorial coordinate of the night. Who can complain? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via 1, 2)
Melissa Leo’s Beige And Gold Lace Marc Bouwer Dress For 2011 Oscars
February 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Unexpected winner (at least in my opinion, but then again, so was The King’s Speech, pretty surprising winner) at the 2011 Oscars, Melissa Leo won the Academy Award for her Performance in a Supporting Role (The Fighter – which was already rewarded for Christian Bale’s Performance in a Supporting Role).
She also was the golden ticket for designer Marc Bouwer whose beige and gold dress was on Melissa tonight. Part of the Fall 2011 collection, the dress fitted the general hues styling coordinates and was a good choice for Melissa Leo, complimenting her skin tone and hair color. Who was your favorite tonight? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via 1, 2)
