Bonde Do Role Solta O Frango
March 12th, 2011 by kpriss
I told you Ima bring the beat today! This is the second reason to step up and hit the dancefloor: Bonde do Role’s Solta o Frango is a funk carioca beat suitable like no other in these carnival times!
It’s not supposed to be a serious Friday Break, just something that can make you move and feel the beat. Besides, I’m loving these funky carioca sounds and they’re good for exercising! I hope you’ll have an amazing weekend! Don’t forget to be stylish and true to yourself!
Amanda Blank Something Bigger, Something Better
March 11th, 2011 by kpriss
It’s amazing what a pile of nasty viruses can do to one individual! I’ve had a rough couple of days, and now since they’re gone, I’m celebrating! Life can’t get bigger than this!
And by celebrating I mean I’m grooving my body up and down, left to right, feel the life pumping through every cell of my body. So today is pretty special. An off movie theme! Are you ready to rock them bodies? The weekend is upon us and I have two selections ready to prep your heart for parteeeeees! Let’s rock, ladies! (if you liked Amanda Blank‘s Something Bigger Something Better – which is my personal favorite – hit the jump for a second taste of Amanda Blank’s funk!)
Jacquelyn Jablonski’s Hermes Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
March 11th, 2011 by kpriss
I may look conservative, but after two seasons of Life like a fairy tale from Hermes, I was expecting nothing else for this year’s ad campaign. However, even though there’s been a serious change of thematic, the new Spring Summer 2011 Hermes Ad Campaign is flawless!
Jacquelyn Jablonski is magically wrapping the Hermes legend under Nick Knight’s lens and the crafty approach eliminates the industrialized feeling pouring through (almost) every high fashion label these days. Now tell the truth: which one is your favorite? the Vie comme un Conte campaign or this one? (photos via)
Most Impressive Headpiece!
March 10th, 2011 by kpriss
When it comes to headbands and headpieces, I’m all eyes and ears! With this new piece, it’s all about lips!
Seen in the Fall Winter 2010 / Spring Summer 2011 issue of Exhibition Magazine, photographed by Mark Segal, this headpiece wonder is pretty daring and interesting. Given that I was hooked on bows for two years, I’m considering a change in my headpieces routine. Silk flowers, little fabric buds… things like that. I never considered lipstick. Would you? Scarlett Johansson Covers Vogue China April 2011
March 10th, 2011 by kpriss
There’s something about Scarlett Johansson‘s new hair. Something undone and unstylish yet adorable. I sometimes get the feeling she’s trying so hard to be un-liked and un-like-others, she fails brilliantly.
Like this Vogue China April 2011 cover – I’m not as naive as to imagine she has had anything to do with the styling or the pose. However, I’m as pretentious as to imagine stylists out there must think of some other way of making Scarlett appealing. Something other than constantly teasing and trying to seduce. Also – if bed hair is the final result, why try so hard and blow dry it, straighten it, fill it with styling products and then tousle it all around? Why not just let it be – straight bed hair? Why is looking natural so hard? (what’s with pink and Vogue April covers?) (Vogue China via)

The New Jeans Trend
March 10th, 2011 by kpriss
With the Fashion Week on a roll, there come the fashion wonders too. Dressed like “n’importe quoi”, the fashion people swear on style and class when in fact they’re wearing mixed and little matched items, hoping their quirkiness will find understanding and appreciation beyond their very own sense of wardrobe.
While I have endless respect for the true fashion people who really are stylish and creatively choose their outfits with amazing inspiration and sartorial sense, I cannot understand those who praise strangeness and label it as fashion. Or style. Or class. And this glorious pair of jeans is one of those trends that should be hammered and banished into the Unstylish Abyss. Instead there it goes, out for everyone to see! But that’s my perspective, do cast your vote after the image! (photo via)

Kate Winslet’s Vogue UK April 2011
March 10th, 2011 by kpriss
It would be strange talking about Kate Winslet’s new Lancome ad and not mention her Vogue UK cover. So here I am, talking about how blond and beautiful she looks on the cover of the fashion Bible, Vogue, the UK edition, April 2011.
Such a strong woman, such a great interpreter, such a beautiful person. Though I read somewhere that Melissa Leo’s F word drop in the Oscar speech was largely due to Kate Winslet with whom she’s costarring in a (television ?) project. Why is that relevant? Because it’s hard to look at immaculate Kate and ignore the “cursing like a sailor” description made by Melissa.
Photographer: Mario Testino. Stylist: Beat Bollinger. Also : no, Kate Winslet has not cut her hair or dyed it in a definitive manner as shown in this issue of Vogue. (Vogue UK via)

Missoni Havaianas. Get Ready For Summer!
March 10th, 2011 by kpriss
How many times have I told you I love Missoni? Something about those iconic zigzag-ed prints makes my head turn and my stylish heart flutter. Oh, if I could only get my hands on a pair of them Missoni Converse! (sigh)
Now that summer is just around the corner, how about Missoni Havaianas? I’m a flip flop fan, in the summer. There’s hardly something as comfortable and as easy to wear and to match as flip flops. And when it comes to flip flops, Havaianas is the brand you’d want to look for. Now that Missoni teamed up with Havaianas is one more reason to open your wardrobe to Havaianas! (they say it’ll be available via Missoni, Havaianas and net-a-porter at prices ranging from $70 to $180) (via)
