Isabel Lucas, Leighton Meester In Louis Vuitton Dresses For Met Gala 2011
May 3rd, 2011 by kpriss
Reportedly both wearing Louis Vuitton dresses, Isabel Lucas and Leighton Meester were so very different! I chose to showcase them together because they represented the same house at the Met Gala 2011. But in fact, I liked Isabel’s dress and getup for this edition of the Met Ball. The jewelry pieces on her head and the earrings complimented Isabel’s face and carried the entire look.
As far as Leighton Meester goes – she’s trying too much, comme d’habitude. I have no idea why she keeps forcing those edgy styles on her classical figure, so maybe you’ll help me and tell me why she could playing so avant-garde! (photos via)
Dakota Fanning’s Valentino Flowery Dress For Met Gala 2011
May 3rd, 2011 by kpriss
Charming Dakota Fanning wearing a soft, romantic bridal gown for the 2011 edition of the Met Ball is one of my ideas of gorgeousness. I absolutely loved what the models showed tonight. Their fierceness and fashion pride is priceless. However, designers adore their celebrity and they will not give up on sending good sartorial material for Red Carpet events.
Such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala. Dakota Fanning is wearing Valentino tonight, one of the house’s dresses from the 2011 Resort Collection. Do you think it’s a good choice or a rather dull, safe and predictable one? (photos 1, 2)

Ciara’s Sleeveless Prabal Gurung Dress For Met Gala 2011
May 3rd, 2011 by kpriss
Surprisingly, another one of my favorite from this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute 2011 Gala was Ciara. Ciara looked impeccably stylish and very much savage beauty.
Not in Alexander McQueen, though, but in Prabal Gurung. If anyone asked, prior to the event, what I would expect Ciara to wear, I’d answered blindly that she will most certainly go in Givenchy. Not the case. And I’m not at all disappointed, au contraire! The sleeveless crystals leaf embroidered dress from Prabal Gurung’s Fall Winter 2011 collection is charming and compliments Ciara perfectly. And have you seen that bracelet / cuff she’s wearing? It’s amazing! (photos 1, 2)

Karolina Kurkova’s Black JPGaultier Dress White Lace Leggings For Met Gala 2011
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
She definitely deserves a place in the first three, however, Karolina Kurkova only comes in fourth in my preferences from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute 2011 Gala. Why? Simply because even though she’s stunning and completely in-tune with the night’s McQueen Savage Beauty theme, she chose to wear Jean Paul Gaultier.
The black dress with white lace details and white lace leggings makes a stunning appearance and Karolina will surely be on most best dressed lists for the Met Ball 2011 with her gorgeous Spring 2011 Jean Paul Gaultier Couture dress. Models representing fashion with pride! (photos 1, 2)
Sarah Jessica Parker In Sparkling McQueen Dress For Met Gala 2011
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the Red Carpet appearances who gave me hope that for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute 2011 Gala she would bring a touch of dash and fabulous so that we will all remember the sartorial grace and genius that was Alexander McQueen.
She did not disappoint, but she went for a safe bet, however: a figure hugging grey – ish dress with crystals allover from the Fall Winter 2005 Alexander McQueen collection. It’s the second dress from the collection so far, in my favorites top of the Met Ball 2011 Red Carpet (the first one is Gisele Bundchen’s red dress). I’m especially fond of the hairdo – I think it’s the best match for the dress! (she ditched the coat but kept the blue shoes though) (photos 1, 2)

Gisele Bundchen In Red McQueen Dress For Met Gala 2011
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
Though many will crown her Queen of the Night, Gisele Bundchen makes it in my top three Met Gala 2011 Red Carpet looks because she’s so… big, you just can’t avoid her or pretend you haven’t seen her.
Gisele is the big red elephant in the room tonight. Only her red dress is Alexander McQueen turning the so “in your face” look in her advantage. I still can’t believe that only a handful of people chose to wear McQueen for this edition of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala! It was supposed to be about McQueen, people! Check your fashion references for you have a truly strange understanding of the “savage beauty” expression! I’m so sad right now! (photos via)
Liv Tyler In Givenchy Haute Couture Dress For Met Gala 2011
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
My second favorite of the night was Liv Tyler, who, much to my surprise, chose to not wear her usual Red Carpet designer – Stella McCartney. She opted instead for a gorgeous, theme – fitted dress from Givenchy!
The Haute Couture Spring 2011 Givenchy collection was an extremely savage beautiful collection, if I may say so. And Liv is fiercely wearing the dress (slightly modified) alongside Riccardo Tisci. Wonderful choice, Liv, just wonderful! You melt my heart! (photos via 1, 2)

Daphne Guinness In Alexander McQueen For Met Gala 2011
May 2nd, 2011 by kpriss
This is one of the moments I bow down and give thanks for Daphne Guinness exists! Thank you, from the bottom of my fashion loving heart, for giving us such a priceless sartorial moment, Daphne Guinness!
Tonight’s Met Museum Gala 2011 was all about Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. I’ve spent hours and looked at so many pictures with the Red Carpet happenings from the Met this evening, searching for something noteworthy! All I could come up with, to best illustrate the McQueen Savage Beauty theme was Daphne Guinness dress from the Spring Summer 2011 fashion show! She was perfect for the night, wouldn’t you say?
