Now here’s the charming Zoe Kravitz (yes, there’s a reason for her to wear that name – her father is the Lenny Kravitz) doing fashion for Asos. Naturally rock’n’roll, Zoe is supposed to highlight fashion. Of some kind.
I wish I could see it too. Instead I get a serious headache while trying to isolate all the elements in any of her pictures? Talking about focus – out of the clothes? Asos really did it: bring in a celebrity (check!), pretty her up for photo session (check!), dress her in all kinds of amazing clothes (check!). They got all the ingredients alright, but why does it look so strange? (photos via)

Lady Gaga Received CFDA Icon Award

From what I see, there’s an entire controversy on whether Lady Gaga should or should have not received the CFDA Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Celebrating the excess and the madness of doing whatever for the sake of entertaining, Lady Gaga is the perfect portrait of today’s performer. Crowning her as a CFDA Fashion Icon is finally admitting that fashion and celebrity go together like horse and carriage. Plus, even Nicole Kidman received this award, why wouldn’t Gaga? (photo via)

Claudia Schiffer is back in the game again! After taking a pause after giving birth to her third child, Claudia is now officially back in full power. Her Harper’s Bazaar July 2011 cover (and pictorial) stand proof that she’s one of the supers!
Photographed by Horst Diekgerdes and wearing the much acclaimed Prada Spring Summer 2011 collection (on the subscriber’s cover), Claudia is charmingly fashionable, even with bleached eyebrows. I sometimes wonder what the world would have done without Brigitte Bardot! (Harper’s Bazaar via)

How can that be? While I’ve been under the radar, hiding with a cold, this is what happened to the world! Lady Gaga has been interviewed by Jean Paul Gaultier!
It’s a way of putting it since the documentary has been in works for awhile now and it will premiere (from what I understood) June 9th, on the French channel TF6. I wish I could watch it? This Gaga girl really takes herself so seriously, I’d better start doing the same, or I’ll fall behind… fashion. Right? (and they say that fashion people don’t take celebrity seriously? and the Red Carpet is the doom of Fashion? cooome oooon!)

I think the thought of seeing an actual frizzy hairdo on a magazine cover was something I hardly ever imagined possible! However, Vogue UK puts Vanessa Paradis on their July 2011 cover with a very strange looking hairstyle – something that would appear to be home made, frizzy and naturally curly?
If it isn’t, whoever styled Vanessa’s hair really knows how to give a natural look to a specific hairdo! However, they used too much photoshopping for an ageless cover! Two more images have surfaced, as photographed by Mario Testino, but so far it’s more interesting and controversial than beautiful, wouldn’t you agree? (Vogue via)

Showing up at a Starbucks near you is the fierce Lady Gaga! Who’s not a stranger to the concept – I threw anything I found in the back of my closet on and just got out the door! Freja Beha Erichsen Styled By Carine Roitfeld, Chanel FW 2011 2012 Ad Campaign

Though it’s photographed by the never too busy Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign was styled by Carine Roitfeld. Starring Freja Beha Erichsen, the campaign is whimsical and funnier than the usual gloomy Chanel Lagerfeld standards.
I’m actually loving it! It’s a phone booth in the background and Freja is trying on masks and veils and looking playful while posing for the camera. I wonder if Freja was Carine’s choice or Karl’s (since he seemed to have had developed a passion for another one of Carine’s propositions – Saskia De Brauw). Either way, the end result is wonderful and I think I’m actually enjoying Carine’s departure from Vogue Paris! How about you? (via)
