Knitting Is Taking Over The World

It’s way beyond a seasonal trend. It’s a way of being in the city. A way I am reminded of how things can always be warm and heartmelting, even in the coldest, strangest of cities. Knit your way through the day.

The first time I saw this type of Urban knitting manifestation was a few years back. I thought it was magical. At the time, I remember it was a bus and few trees, all the handy work of Madga Sayeg. Now, our dear friend Ellington sent me these images with the same Guerilla Knitting now known as Graffiti Knitting move taking over cities like Paris and Melbourne, Tel Aviv and Bali. Rihanna For Armani Jeans Ad Campaign. The First Image!

And to think that the actual news of Rihanna being the new body of Armani Jeans broke just a month or so ago! My daaahlings, here’s the first image from the very fashionable, extremely edgy and absolutely stylish Armani Jeans Ad Campaign with the one and only gorgeous Rihanna!

The image, which was brought to us via Armani’s FB is now making the rounds of the interwebs. And not in a good way. (hint – anyone else has the distinct feeling that Rihanna was seriously slimmed and face – altered for this photo?)

How To: Perfect Black Eyeliner Dior Velvet Eyes

I just got word of one of the most amazing products so far. Makeup wise. Christian Dior’s Velvet Eyes Collection is a four styles collection of appliqués for eyes.

Didn’t you always dream of tracing the perfect black eyeliner contour? Not to mention those graphic theatrical effects we only see on catwalks and in fashion magazines? Well, it’s all possible now with the Dior Velvet Eyes collection. Effet Velours, Effet Brilliant, Effet Haute Couture, they’re all waiting for the perfect opportunity to stick to your upper eyelid and make a couture-ish sensation! How do you feel about these eye stickers? Would you even give them a try? (they’re $55 at Sephora)

Victoria Beckham’s Post 4th Baby Body

This is usually the type of post baby body story. However, labeling Victoria Beckham with a post baby title calls out for specific details: Victoria’s post – fourth – baby – body! And boy, does she look amazing, or what?

Seen out and about in New York in the very day of the Fashion Night Out event, also the first day of the New York Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham was carrying her sweet baby girl Harper in her arms. Even though speculations linked Victoria to a very serious back condition saying that she couldn’t even hold her baby girl, the brave mother of four, back hurt or not, was walking with baby girl Harper in her arms while wearing high heels. Do you think those rumors were true? Or just plain mean tabloid talk? (oh, and click through for a better look at lovely Harper Seven Beckham! Doesn’t she look just like her dad?)

10 Crosby Derek Lam Spring Summer 2012 Collection

You know I pride myself with keeping a pretty open eye on fashion and style, however, I’ve seen some things in 10 Crosby Derek Lam Collection I’ve never thought of pairing before!

You’ll easily spot the must wear of the spring summer 2012 season: stripes, bright colors, color blocks and some tribal prints. But the layering, my daaahlings, the layering pushed forward by Derek Lam for the 10 Crosby label is pretty darn crazy! Take a look and tell me what you think of the looks worn by Hanne Gaby Odiele! BCBG Max Azria Spring Summer 2012 Collection

That’s it – the absolute confirmation that the trends communicated to the designers were somewhere around color blocks, tribal prints and layered outfits! I had some doubts before when I first saw the Vena Cava collection, but now I’m certain!

BCBG Max Azria Spring Summer 2012 collection is a wearable, comfy collection of dresses and rompers (I think I spotted two pair of pants throughout a 30 looks collection). The bright oranges and neon blues were tempered by earthly tones of gray and yellow. I liked it. Easy to wear, easy to digest, wouldn’t you say? Nicholas K Spring Summer 2012 Collection

You don’t feel like wearing bright colors for Spring Summer 2012? (tricky question, given how strong this trend appears to be not only for this fall but for the upcoming summer!)

Then you’ve got Nicholas K. That is if you’re willing to take a deep dose of layering too! Because the nature inspired collection from Nicholas K is mainly monochrome (think whites, blacks, grays) and deeply layered. How do you like it? (click through for more images; the entire collection here)
