Are you familiar with Jil Sander Navy? It’s Jil Sander’s ready to wear affordable label. And, as all affordable labels, is much more comfortable and visually pleasing, not to mention a totally wearable line!
The volumes game, the joyful, playful way the designer chose to make a youthful statement for the Spring Summer 2012 season is delightful. I absolutely loved the androgynous feeling and the school uniform visuals. Didn’t you? (click through for more looks; the entire collection here)
DKNY Spring Summer 2012 Collection

I usually like Donna Karan’s designs so DKNY Spring Summer 2012 was not supposed to be the exception. However, I found surprisingly few elements to please my stylish heart on the DKNY SS 12 catwalk (I totally loved the hats, I must admit).
It all happened on 9/11 and it came naturally with key notes striking the patriotic chords. I’m thinking the yellow cab in the background, the patriotic prints and the general loose feeling of the cuts. Browse through and you’ll notice the color blocks and the vivid colors and prints, plus the layers. There’s no going around the spring summer 2012 rules, it seems! Everybody loves Prabal Gurung. And I would be perfectly fine with that, if it wasn’t for this new Spring Summer 2012 cutout sensation of a show he put on the New York Fashion Week catwalk.
He got stuck in the trends routine so I imagined he got bored and started clipping around. The waist. And don’t think he’s the only one who’ll be emphasizing the waist in his Spring Summer 2012 collection! So let’s check Prabal out and feel his positive fashion energy! Wow! Next time I’ll go play tennis, I’ll think differently about the clothes I’m throwing on my back! I know I’m belittling the importance and the entire area of expertise of the house of Lacoste, but hey! that’s how I felt when I saw the images from the Lacoste Spring Summer 2012 collection!

As I walk though the Valley of the Shadows of Fashion, I shall fear no (style) Evil, for I know now what next summer’s trends will be. And if I really want to keep my fashion up for the Spring Summer 2012 season, I’ll look for yellow and layers.

Jason Wu Spring Summer 2012 Collection

While this was just another day for the rest of the world (okay, maybe a special one since it’s Friday after all), to the fashion world, today marked the second day of the New York Fashion Week.
Jason Wu Spring Summer 2012 was presented to a select fashion audience today and here’s what I thought about it! I thought that if ever Chanel and Marc Jacobs would have had a baby, it would have been Jason Wu! I realize how that must sound like, but take my word for it and look at the images from Jason’s Summer 2012 collection! I know he must have complied to the same trends directives, however, he could have done it in a more non – Lagerfeld – ish manner. (is it just me?).
