Karlie Kloss Back For Anthony Vaccarello Fall 2012 Collection

After sitting out New York, London and Milan Fashion Weeks, Karlie Kloss is back for Paris Fashion Week. And she opened for Anthony Vaccarello Fall Winter 2012 2013. You may remember the designer’s name as he signed one of the most controversial dress cuts of many seasons, as seen (among others) on Anne Vyalitsyna at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Welcome back, Karlie, we missed you! On a fashion – related note, I’m actually pleased Anthony Vaccarello chose to suit up his fall collection! Edgy fashion, only with more fabric (wink).

Cate Blanchett Covers Interview Russia March 2012

Cate Blanchett wasn’t at the Oscars this year (or at least not that we know of, and we were really looking forward to seeing her dress choice) so maybe she’s making up for her Red Carpet absence by doing so many covers? Here’s a first one: Cate Blanchett covers Interview Russia March 2012. And, unlike the US edition of Interview magazine, the cover girl looks very much like herself. Thankfully! We loooove Cate! We want more Cate!

Mad Luxury: Roberto Cavalli Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection

It was really hard to discover a simple design in Roberto Cavalli’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection. I imagine Roberto jumped off of his chair with real excitement and undissimulated happiness when he heard that he is to use leather and fur for his fall 2012 collection. Not only he used the luxurious materials, but he printed them, stitched them together in such complicated manners, I doubt anyone will (even try) to replicate his exact work.

Undisputed amazing sartorial work, crowned with the incredible catwalk of the one and only Naomi Campbell who closed the FW 2012 2013 Roberto Cavalli fashion show. I’m convinced the end credits didn’t mention “no animals were hurt in the making of this collection”. And that saddens me.

Hair Inspiration: The Braid

We paid attention to the hair trends reports so we already know that the braid is what you need to wear if you want you hair to be high fashion this year!

Upside down, all around, the braid can make your frizzy hair look tamed and punk if that’s what you want, bohemian and fairy tale if you’re looking for a lighter hairdo. Fashion Week’s catwalks keep providing useful (although highly intricate) inspiration for fancy braids. Take for instance the upside down braid was seen at Simone Rocha, the double halos you’ll see after the jump are from Fendi‘s catwalk. Pretty hair, huh? I’d really love to try my hand at the upside down braid. Has anyone tried it yet?

Christy Turlington Is A Gentlewoman This Spring Summer 2012

I’ve been waiting for a larger preview of the Spring Summer 2012 issue of Gentlewoman magazine since what it feels like forever! Because Christy Turlington is on the cover! And that’s such a rare sight nowadays! Since Christy has left the active models ranks and actively lives her life as an activist in all kind of honorable causes (in addition to being an accomplished mother and wife), we hardly see her anywhere near the glitz and the glamour of fashion!

Now, before you ask, there’s no telling if that’s really Christy’s new hair! Highlights just don’t seem to go with her classic approach of everything life & style. It may just be for The Gentlewoman occasion, courtesy of Inez and Vinoodh’s lenses. Isn’t she something? (the preview looks promising)

80s Ladies: Giorgio Armani Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection

Giorgio Armani too must have received that memo from the stylists recommending some retro feel for his Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection. So he capitalized on the eighties fashion. Ladies of the 80s should fall for Giorgio Armani’s creations, put their hats on, their fancy little gloves, pin a flower on their lapel and a scarf right under the neckline and be as fancy as they get. In the eighties. (oh, Armani calls it “Rockability” pfff!)

Raf Simmons Heading To Dior. Not.

According to Anna dello Russo who is a well respected fashionista (and, hopefully, fashion professionals take her seriously enough as to disclose inside information to her), Raf Simmons is not headed to Dior. That was on everyone’s mind when the news about Raf stepping down from the creative helmet of Jil Sander, a position he had occupied for seven seasons. Which is like forever in fashion years!

Jil Sander will reprise her label’s creative responsibility, it would appear, while Raf would allegedly release his own fashion brand. Again, these are just rumors; if fashion would only be judged through Anna dello Russo’s eyes, we would all be dancing around in towering high heels, locked up in some golden fashion cages! Pocket Geometry: Gianfranco Ferre Fall 2012 Collection

I really wanted to open with Dsquared2 colorful collection because it stood tall in a sea of dark fashion drama. Of which Gianfranco Ferre’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 collection is part. Left Right pockets seem to have dictated a particular geometry in a very sartorially angular collection. Ferre as designed by Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi is severe, layered and bulky here and there. All you need is a leftright pocket that stands out and you’re set for fall!
