DKNY Resort 2013: Urban Party Dressing

Donna Karan’s DKNY Resort 2013 collection came to me as a very 80s inspired assembly of sports couture wear. Flashy colors, high contrasts and very urban clothes for the party – ready fashpopulation. (I actually double checked – it’s a resort collection, not a pre – fall, like I’d be tempted to categorize it.) Although until now I tried to avoid white shoes over black tights, DKNY Resort 2013 swears it’s a trendy move. Ummm. Not?! {style}

Although I have yet to find out the details (not to mention some of the inside goodies), the first issue of the already controversial 25 magazine is out. As I said earlier, Anja Rubik and her husband, Sasha Knezevic are behind this artsy print (you see the introduction word signed Anja Rubik below the main cover image). For its first issue, Paola Kudacki on the cover (could actually be a self-portrait). {tFS}

Two weeks stand between us and Prometheus. June 8th 2012 is the launch date of one of the most awaited movies this year, the prequel to the Alien movies. And if you weren’t familiar with Noomi Rapace’s professionalism, dedication and overwhelming talent, take a look below!

Ridley Scott (Prometheus’ director, also known for Alien and Blade Runner among others) has a flair for choosing his lady characters wisely! Noomi was photographed in a tank of water, where, they say, she held her breath for minutes and the Photoshop team didn’t even have to retouch the air bubbles simply because there were none to retouch – Noomi looks perfect. I’m sure this New York Times Magazine cover could stir the envy of a mermaid!

Moschino is ready for summer. Are you? The new fragrance, Moschino Pink Bouquet, is youthful, sweet, floral, fruity, in short – summer’ adorable! Kendra Spears is carrying the advertising mission as Moschino’s pink heart shaped bottles will reportedly hit stores next month. An excellent choice for what I’m sure will be a great scent – success with our young ladies out there! {wwd}

As the new Vogue Netherland releases its third cover ever (June 2012), the general opinion of the highly esteemed fash population is that, although pretty and lovable, it looks like Vogue Paris.

However, if we just step back and look at the ensemble, everything would be so much clearer: Vogue Netherlands‘ first issue ever was an all white backdrop and three gorgeous Dutch models. Vogue Netherland’s second issue was an up close portrait of Lara Stone, again, against an all white background. Now it’s Guinevere Van Seenus, looking all sorts of lovely and summery, white background and all, but it feels like Vogue Paris? Oh, come on? Seriously?

After weeks of speculations and heartbreaking news (Tyra Banks released Jay Manuel, J. Alexander and Nigel Barker of their model jury duty), it was confirmed by wwd that Bryanboy (Bryan Grey Yambao, blogger superstar) is joining America’s Next Top Model team. Tyra Banks, Bryanboy, Rob Evans, Johnny Wujek – that’s the 19th season ANTM cast lineup! {wwd}

Although the golden contours remind me of Doutzen Kroes’ Versace dress, Milla Jovovich‘ edgy Atelier Versace dress seem to consolidate her Fifth Element reputation. The architectural shape, the dramatic leg slit, the metallic shine, all the key ingredients for a successful Red Carpet gown are there.

However, if you take a look at Milla‘s hair, you’ll notice a lovely retro hair piece. And although it’s just as shiny and sparkling as the dress, I get the feeling they don’t work towards the same 5th element vibe I was getting earlier. I know I should be talking about the lovely orange & white Giambattista Valli Couture dress, but the adorable Berenice Bejo was carrying a bag that deserves just as much attention as the gown: Olympia Le – Tan’s “La Femme Amoureuse” hand made book clutch from a very limited edition of 16 items worldwide numbered at the back and priced at $1,430. Berenice (and her clutch) was my favorite on the amfAR Red Carpet!
