Loving Comme Des Garcons Where’s Waldo Scarf
June 15th, 2012 by kpriss
Comme des Garcons decided to honor Waldo’s 25th anniversary with a special, Where’s Waldo limited collection with scenes from the picture books. Reportedly available through Comme des Garcons stores, it’ll make the delight of any Waldo enthusiast (that is if you can get your hands on at least one item from the coveted collection. Loving the $495 scarf, as seen here – with the trademark white stripes!) {slamxhype}
Bend It Like Lily Donaldson On The Cover Of Vogue Russia July 2012!
June 15th, 2012 by kpriss
Modeling – as we know it – is not just walking around wearing pretty clothes and nice shoes, working with beautiful people and posing for glossy magazines! It also involves some serious issues (such as facing the Uncle Terry kind of people) and demonstrating hard workout abilities! Lily Donaldson’s Vogue Russia July 2012 cover is the perfect example of yoga bending for Vogue (try replicating the position and hold it for a couple of seconds)! {tFS}
Gisele Bundchen Remains Highest Paid Model
June 15th, 2012 by kpriss
Nothing seems to change in supermodelland: Gisele Bundchen still remains world’s highest paid model (with a whopping $45 Million / last year, as reported by Forbes).
To understand just how comfortably Gisele reigns supreme, you’ll need more data: Kate Moss is second highest paid with (just) $9.2 Million / last year while Candice Swanepoel enters the 10th position with $3.1 Million. I guess Gisele can take two years for her second baby with no worries whatsoever! (how is that possible? First place with $45 Million and second place with less than $10 Million? Is there no other model in this business?)
Laetitia Casta’s Perfect Tan: Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Perfume Ad Campaign
June 15th, 2012 by kpriss
Laetitia Casta as photographed by Mario Testino for Dolce & Gabbana’s Pour Femme Perfume ad campaign is a perfect example of how a simple setting with just the right amount of natural beauty is the answer to great, convincing marketing. Actually, I’m pretty convinced that Laetitia Casta’s perfect tan is the main ingredient of this basic display of advertising bliss. {tFS}
Emma Stone’s Vogue July 2012 Cover. Why So Sad?
June 14th, 2012 by kpriss
As I’ve made no secret out of it, I have a special fondness towards Emma Stone. She chose her career steps wisely as she now seems the perfect blend of funny, down to earth and sensitive. The kind of girl you’d dream of having next door who’ll brighten up your day with just a smile.
But that can’t be the same girl as the one on the cover of Vogue US July 2012! Impossible – that sad face, that teary expression? Can’t be Emma Stone! And still – as photographed by Mario Testino, Emma shows her Amazing Spider Man face: all that drama makes me sad. But not enough as in not buying the actual magazine, though! (let’s hope more & better pictures will soon surface for an objective perspective on the July 2012 issue!)
Dare To Wear The Feather Ear Cuff By Anni Jurgenson?
June 13th, 2012 by kpriss
It’s been a while, huh? Well, let’s startkick things by reshaping the DtW column and giving it a more active vibe: cutting the stories short and focusing on the design. After all, it’s what this “dare to wear” question is all about. Isn’t it?
So today, as it’s a plain summer day and summer is full of Music Festivals, I’d like you to concentrate on the freedom and the creativity behind those plain air festivals – do you dare to wear a feather ear cuff?
The piece below was created by Anni Jurgenson from Estonia and if you really want to wear it, you don’t even have to have piercings in your ears as it fits around the ear. (oh, and if you’re interested, it’s still available for $45)
Fairy Tale Fashion Art
June 13th, 2012 by kpriss
You may be familiar with Rumpelstiltskin, a German fairy tale talking about a miller’s daughter who could (allegedly) spin straw into gold. I loved fairy tales when I was a child and Brothers Grimm’s tales were among my favorites. Today I came across a very clever artwork imagined by Mandy Smith based upon Rumpelstilskin’s descriptions.
Notice anything strange? Yes, the dress is made from baking paper, the wheel is cardboard while everything else (room & props) are designed, created and painted by hand. Photography Leon Hendrickx, model Dorothy Bany. Isn’t this enchanting?
Anna Wintour Visiting Sarah Jessica Parker For Obama Fundraiser Party
June 13th, 2012 by kpriss
Sarah Jessica Parker’s home just turned into a veritable hot point for all kinds of fashion & party related activities as she’s hosting a fundraiser event for Obama.
You’d expect legions of Secret Service officers going in and out of SJP’s place to assure the complete clean sweep of the house (except the scrubbing army she mobilized for the event).
But would you ever expect Anna Wintour stopping by? I wonder what they were cooking… (figuratively speaking, biensur) {fashionista}
