Casual Chic J. Crew Spring Summer 2013 Collection

There’s always a smart chic quality to J. Crew’s casual designs. And the Spring Summer 2013 collection is faithful to that directive. Judging only by the looks selected below, I wouldn’t mind having all the looks from the said collection in my closet. And then I’d be singing that happy tune every day: “I feel pretty, all so pretty…”

If there’s (at least) one thing we know about models, is that their body isn’t much like ours. They have the “skinny gene” and that’s a fact.

The skinny gene is actively present during the pregnant months too.

Marisa Miller’s baby bump, my dahlings, looks like it’s been glued to her stomach! She recently published a self – portrait of her graciously pregnant self at 22 weeks and, if it’s a girl, I’m sure she’ll be one of Victoria’s Secret Angels, just like her mama!

Look at that tiny, perky proud belly! That’s catwalk material right there!

I did. And it’s so artsy, it will take your mind off fashion for a minute. Hedi Slimane is preparing his first Saint Laurent collection show for October 1st. Until day, the recently revealed Saint Laurent Paris (men) Ad Campaign is trying to impose the new SLP aesthetic over the old YSL. Who’s hiding in the pillow there? Musician Christopher Owens (ex – vocals of the “Girls”). Is Hedi Slimane planning to open a tattoo studio under the SLParis name? {wwd}

We’ve seen simple during this Spring Summer 2013 Fashion Week. We’ve even seen layers. So it’s pretty safe to assume that, fashion – wise, two of the main trends next summer are: simple and layered.

However, Mary – Kate and Ashley Olsen showed a different approach of The Row Spring Summer 2013 collection. Simple, yes. Layered, yes. But the colors? Sure, we already noted blue and black as the must – wear colors next spring. Natural beige / butter and red are new to the palette, though (Marc Jacobs used the cherry red for his mad stripes the other day). So let’s keep an eye out for butter & red too!

We’ve seen stripes before during this Fashion Week. But we’ve never seen them like Marc Jacobs imagined: with Marc it’s stripes all the way. Stripes up, stripes down and all around. There’s no place for half measures! (and what do you know, even Irina Lazareanu walked the Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2013 runway!) {style}

So here she goes: Kristen Stewart promoting On The Road looking all different and grownup. Because, as we talked earlier, Kristen Stewart is undergoing a heavy makeover phase, something that’ll stitch her “pure” image back together in time for the Twilight tour.

Promoting her latest movie in NYC, Kristen wore her hair pretty much like she did at the Toronto Film Festival. And this new hairdo is treating her wonderfully – she looks great! The black pants she’s wearing are A.L.C. Jude cropped stretch wool – twill pants clearly few numbers up while the top is Balenciaga (shoes reportedly from Jimmy Choo). How do you like Kristen’s makeover?

It’s a nice and warm summer up ahead. More and more, the Fashion Week collections have us seeing orange and yellow, pretty embroideries and nice, ethno hippie touches. Here’s what I picked up from Tory Burch Spring Summer 2013 collection : (I looooved what Joan Smalls was wearing! It’s pretty timeless!) {style}

Before you judge and label with “mommy shoes”, think that even Ashley Olsen wears a pair of Birkenstock Gizeh (only in patent black). Yes? Good.

Now here’s the latest celebrity to adhere to the Birkenstock club: the charming Selma Blair. She was seen with her baby boy Arthur Ventura out and about in a casual ensemble finished with Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. Comfy shoes loved by mommies and fashionistas alike!
