The Cure Lullaby

We’ve been together so long and not even once did I bring up The Cure in our beloved Friday Breaks! Well, this is it! Happy Halloween my dahlings! Celebrating or not, The Cure Lullaby is one piece of amazing musical work (and I am a bit behind on adding to our musical archive – wink)!

I was reading below the video – can’t believe it’s from 1989! If I close my eyes and try to pinpoint this in the musical history, I couldn’t do it – I’m convinced Lullaby existed since the dawn of times and The Cure just voiced it. The same feeling I had when I first listened to Massive Attack… What was your musical epiphany?

Leighton Meester’s Flaunts It!

We knew she chopped off her hair. We even knew Gossip Girl is wrapping up (finally). But we didn’t know Leighton Meester really knows how to Flaunt it. The November 2012 issue of Flaunt Magazine brings us a cheeky (literally) side of Leighton we weren’t used to see before. I’m sure nobody will complain about it…

If your Halloween inspiration was ravaged by Sandy, here’s a little help putting it all back together! Hanging Rock Comics drawings of this useful Last Minute Halloween Costumes guide reminding you that, above all, it’s about fun and every little resource matters in creating the right look. I was actually looking for another pair of gorgeous boots (on Jeffrey Campbell’s blog) and found this fun drawings sheet. On Halloween. Do you really believe in coincidences?

Some items may be harder to get (Lisa Simpson’s Sax or Lloyd Dobbler’s Boobox) but awe can all manage to scoop a skateboard (for Bart Simpson’s costume), a broom and a hat (for Sabrina the Teenager Witch’s costume). And if all that fails and you just don’t feel this Halloween, just go ahead dressed as yourself, you’re party killer enough as it is! (wink) Happy Halloween, everyone!

Summer To Fall Transition Dress: Eame Shirt Dress From Humanoid

I know it’s a little late to be talking summer to fall transition wardrobe. And still.. I saw this dress and couldn’t think of anything else other that it would be perfect for the job. Actually I couldn’t think of anything else other that ‘Want. Need. Now!’.

It’s my kind of dress, and I don’t get to say that very often. Shirt dresses are totally on my style alley and I’d wear them any day, any season. And this color right here melts my heart. I found it on a webshop from Netherland, so our dear friend, Riana, might be familiar with Humanoid (are you? Are they as great in real life as they seem online?). I’m just getting acquainted and addicted!

Kate Moss Flawless Vanity Fair December 2012 Cover

Kate Moss gorgeous Vanity Fair December 2012 cover After a less striking Bond cover, Vanity Fair is back in the breathtaking game with an amazing cover: Kate Moss as photographed by Mert and Marcus.

Vanity Fair’s December 2012 issue sounds really interesting, especially with an interview from Kate the Great, something she’s famously reticent about.

Can’t wait to see more and read the online version of her interview! {vanityfair}

Fall Boots You Need: Jeffrey Campbell’s Burgundy Lee Boot

I warned you I’m a fool for buckles! Here comes another great example, but far more casual than the previous one: Jeffrey Campbell’s burgundy distressed Lee Boot (only available through Free People).

Aren’t these just wonderful? I have a very similar pair I love and can’t part ways with, only in brown and with just one buckle. More like an engineer boot. And you know what I love the most about these beauties right here? (besides the said buckles and the Jeffrey Campbell design signature, yes!) the color! Too much black & brown during cold months. Why not splash a pint of red while we’re at it?
