Kanye West will release his inner fashionist … ahem singer on November 25th, with a new album called 808’s & Heartbreak.
I’m so impressed by his promotional pictures, I just can’t take my eyes off. I’ve always been fascinated by Androids! And to have the honor of seeing a black one is overwhelming! (it must have something to do with the elections!) This reminds me of that recent movie with Eddie Murphy, Meet Dave (so much for being original, Kanye!). Oh well, sneakers with a suit, nothing’s changed. The classic pocket handkerchief transformed into a polka dots red heart with a black flash crossing over is crashingly stylish! Oh, Kanye, I so wish you stick to your singing and put a leash on that fashionist self of yours! Let the professionals take care of outfit details! You, rock that stage like you know how to! Even though i hate kanye west, i think that you are so racist. The things you wrote about being lucky to see a ‘black android’ and that it must be something to do with the election i.e obama was very tasteless. You know i used to think this site had more taste than that, but you have turned out to be a white trash wannabe fashionista.
@ FREJAMACAROONS: I’ve never ever noticed any racism on this blog. I think its a good thing Kpriss write in a normal way about coloured people as she does about white people….no difference there….I hope with all my heart Obama wins these elections. Tho, I wish, as a world citizen that it would have been Hillary Clinton. And Obama as VP only because he has not enough experience. But he has good skills as far as I’m informed. So am I a racist now? And I dislike that arrogant Kanye West very much. But I do dislike the very white and charming Tom Ford too!

Frejamacaroons, I’m so sorry I misled you into believing that there would be an ounce of racism in me! Kanye could’ve been Asian, Caucasian or just as Black as he already is, my comment would’ve been just the same. He looks so still and lifeless, the only thing I could think of was an android. I was particularly thinking about Data, from Star Trek. I should’ve said that too, but I thought the similarity and comparison I made with Eddie Murphy’s Meet Dave was relevant enough. Apparently not and I’m sorry for having offended you or any Black people in any way!
My comment was par rapport with his outfit and looks only! And having a black representation of an Android is something quite impressive since the world only saw robotic humans Caucasian. That was discriminatory! Meet Dave was somewhat glass breaking since it was about a Black android, about time to make people see there’s nothing wrong with having a different (from white) skin color.
As far as the elections go, I hope the people will wisely choose change!
Adriana (thank you!) he’s the next nerd in fashion, I think that’s why people look up to him so much! Because of his so called innovations, meant to raise the confidence everywhere, for everyone! But I still think his singing should get all the spotlight…

@Ellington, its very hard these days to know exactly what to say about the colour i.e. race of a person. To me we are all human beings: good or bad and a lot in between.
But its a fact that there are people on this earth of all kinds of colours, size etc. etc. That’s what I meant by speaking about “coloured people” I was not speaking about about black people in general but ALL people on this globe!
Sometimes I’m a bit tired that I’ve to walk on my toes by saying these things and be so careful. Acting like that is to me almost being racist…..if I’m clear? It means, to me that I’ve to think all the time about these different colours and I don’t care about that you see…..
A black girl who was pregnant with her white husband told me of late that she did called the baby inside her ” our little café au lait”. That was so moving and endearing and so wise….The “little café au lait” is born now and has a beautiful African name with a very European last name.
Okay that is fine to say, but the term coloured people still has racist connotations Adriana. Being lumped in with everyone else by being called coloured is offensive.
Yes its hard but why on earth should it be easy? So white people get to be called white and everyone else is coloured?
This is important to me because I am a Black woman and have to deal with this everyday consciously and unconsciously. I am aware of others and their representations, if I can do it why can not you?
My family is a mix of many different peoples and diversity is beautiful!
I don’t mean to be harsh, as I said I don’t think that you are racist but we all have to be aware of each other, it not being PC its called be respectful. You could have said for example people of different races, that is inclusive.

It has no racist connotations to me Ellington. Not at all. What am I? I’m a freckled redhead and very pale and it was very painful in my childhood to be teased and humiliated with that. I hated my skinny white legs which made a laughing stock. Then they got freckled too! Pff, I’m proud now of what I am. Now its beautiful all of a sudden and women dyes their hair red. Never looks like the real thing, duh….
By the way, you used “coloured women” in the article about Vogue India with Posh on its cover! I was really confused because I just had finished my piece and I don’t give a damn what colour, race or whatever a person is. As long as they are the good ones, the friendly ones the ones that make this into a better world. I guess I’ve to dream on…..

The term I used actually was “women of colour” not coloured women. That is an acceptable term in the lexicon of discourse on race. Not the word coloured.
By the way red hair and freckles are beautiful! You must have been a beautiful little girl who has become a beautiful woman!
Oh and when I was little one of my many heroes and role models (because I wanted to be like her and live next door to her) was Pippi Longstocking the strongest girl in the world! She was a red head and had freckles and was the coolest! Did you ever read about her and her adventures with Tommy and Annika?
Those kids were foolish to tease you but we all as humans fear what is beautiful and different, I am sad that you had to go through such hurt.

Oh, I’ve been called Pippi Langkous! That’s Dutch for Pippi Longstocking as you understand of course. I’ve read about her and saw her on tv and to me she was a heroin and at that time I yet was yet busy growing over it. But I’ve still something of a ‘fighting attitude’ we think due to years long of being hurt by it.
Right, we can be our own change, that’s a great way and good thought to start the weekend and therefore hugs to you as well girl with a very big smile too!
