Natalie Portman Thor 2: First Look

I have to say this upfront: up until a couple of hours ago, I was still hesitant about writing this piece. What changed my mind was something I found out from my Facebook friends (thank you, Ellington!): bromies. Are you familiar with the concept? Hint: it has something to do with ‘My little pony’. Seriously! It’s about grown-up men who really enjoy the animated series! So if a full fledged men fanbase exists for ‘My little pony’, why wouldn’t I come clean about liking ‘Thor’? (And looking out for news about the upcoming Thor2 which is still currently filming, thoroughly enjoying a first peak at Natalie Portman who has returned for ‘The Dark World’ episode as Jane Foster.)

And you know what I loved about Thor? No, it’s not Chris Hemsworth (although I appreciate his commitment to the character). I like the Thor’s candor. He’s marvelously (pun intended) simple brained: brawl & live. The very simplicity of the tool of his trade (that humongous, mythical hammer) reminds me of a toddler’s perspective on the world: a toddler and Thor have so much in common, it’s frightening to even advance this theory in open-internet-field. Someone might unleash the fan anger on me.

But I’m saying it with the best intentions. And in full subjectivity! Please don’t unleash the fan wrath upon me! And please erase every trace of previous mythology knowledge from your mind when reading these lines! As I was saying: Thor and a toddler. They’re both candidly lovely and irresistible, leading simple lives of basic reasoning. They both behave like they just fell out of the sky a second ago and they both have disproportionate views on pretty much everything that surrounds them. Like, for instance, any hammer is a Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer) for a toddler, just like any of a toddler’s tantrums is like releasing the mighty powers of thunder upon the surrounding world. For these reasons and many more, I really enjoy Thor! Please be kind when judging the lines I just wrote, thank you!

I am familiar with bromies since almost two years….sorry…..
Firstly it were the young, intelligent young teens. The ones that look for knowledge, good education. I was rather surprised at first. :)

I’d never saw Thor. Now I want too though :)
