Sneakers With Formal Pants Fashionable? Vogue China Showing How!

Besides Kristen Stewart who’s braving the endless cohorts of fashion snobs and style soldiers by wearing sneakers on the Red Carpet, pairing trainers / sneakers with formal wear can still work some wardrobe magic? Yes! Undoubtedly so!

After all the years we spent together reviewing so many more or less official looks, all the Red Carpet glamour, all the unspeakable, unmentionable glory of Ugg boots or velour tracksuit pants we’ve whispered here, I learned one valuable lesson: fashion is nothing unless you’re doing it in style. And style is meaningless unless it’s impregnated with your unique personality. (the story continues after the jump!)

My style personality is so much about comfort, I will think twice about choosing high heels over comfortable sneakers (or flat sandals or combat / biker boots). But that doesn’t automatically imply that my wardrobe revolves around jeans, sweatshirts and tracksuits only. Au contraire! I’m a big fan of formal wear. I actually love wearing pinstriped pants, wide leg suit pants or very feminine dresses. Except I do it all my way!

And my way is the comfy way. Hence these images from Vogue China January 2013. I found peace again as sneakers can still be worn with formal clothes. If paired with style & sense of fun. (Masculine Impression for Vogue China January 2013, photographed by Amy Troost, styled by Alastair McKimm; via)

This look rocks.
My hubby sometimes wears bomber jackets with formal pants and I love it.
