Talking about National matters… I know, I know, it doesn’t have much to do with Bastille Day, but still.. Have you heard about the political outrage around the US Olympic Team? It’s about their uniforms: Ralph Lauren proudly designed the garments on US soil but the industrial process per se was located in China. ‘If they have to wear nothing but a singlet saying USA on it painted by hand, that’s what they should do.’ Them fiery politicians know no fashion! Pfff! {npr}

The UK uniforms are made in Cambodja, here is Spain the uniforms are from Russia.To me is total lack of respect for the local industry.
ana, the total lack of respect for the local industry has made far too many unemployed and turned others into slaves. Not to mention other trouble….:(
I have lost my respect for the fashion industry yet years ago after what Burberry (Made in China) did to the people of Wales and reading books I have mentioned here often enough now. (And also what learnt via documentaries I have saw.)
Got to find out where the Dutch uniforms has been made.
You are right Riana… it got so repulsive that I quit altogether .
ana, I have so much respect for what you did. People like you can make things change for the better. People like you make me not lose all my faith in human kind. :)
Riana: girl, muchas gracias!! I am red faced now….So sweet from you ;-)
:)
ana, I found out where the Dutch uniforms (Suit Supply designs, sponsored by Adidas) and training gear (Asics) have been fabricated: China. No, not a real surpise isn’t it?
mmmmm…. not really….
Globalisation will kill us all.
I am afraid so yes. I have always been an avid opponent of globalisation. I just knew it won’t work.
