Lovely lady Marion Cotillard was featured in the Spring 2010 issue of Citizen K Magazine, the Russian edition. The atmosphere is Madonna for D & G and Marion looks adorable, even if she’s looking like she did her own styling (hair and makeup) and wore the clothes of her choosing.
There’s something in this kind of raw photo-styling I don’t get. Barely smiling, with domestic gestures and attitudes, the photos taken by Ruven Afanador have an aesthetic of their own, without any shadow of a doubt, charming. Can someone, please detail that aesthetic to me too? Thanks in advance. (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Very charming. This shoot looks just so very Russian to me, like their films and documentaries. Or a news item about Russia??
This has a old world (luxury) peasant feel to it. I think that they were trying for a naturalistic feel. Almost like paintings. Some of Marion’s poses remind me of Modigliani’s paintings and the poses his models took.
As always I adore Marion! : )
spread legs and flat shoes??? please, give me a break…
