You know what they say, that simplicity has a killer elegance you can’t obtain with tons of frills and thrills. Well, Antonio Berardi’s simplicity for Spring Summer 2010 was too simple.
The too simple simplicity, the killer of all styles. Yes, it’s a beautiful collection, I’m sure everyone who was on it worked pretty hard and that’s why they deserve the standing ovations. Fashionwise, though, I felt too young for Antonio Berardi. (which can’t be good, since I’m only 18!) (the story continues right after the jump with more images and a video of the Antonio Berardi Fashion Show!)
I felt his spring summer 2010 collection was too safe and too neutral, despite of the daring, samurai-ish geometrical cuts, despite of the very bright colors (electric blue, bright orange) and the very short skirts. There was something missing from this collection. Fashion. Young and appealing fashion. Yes, I did felt some of his pieces, I loved the two-toned stiletto shoes (very challenging for the walking models), yet Antonio Berardi’s Spring Summer 2010 was over severe and over conservative for my taste. How did it make you feel? (you can see photos of the entire collection here)

First of all, Kpriss, you are only 18! wow!
I’m 19.(I guess I’m the only one that hasn’t known your name)
Personally, I thought the same thing that he can do better than this. But I have to say the look that the model wears a corset sheer bustier with blazer and pants is beautiful and I would love to be in that outfit. Though I’m not wear that in Thailand, it’s too provocative for the culture and tradition.
And well,…that’s only thing I like about this show.
lol! Daydreamer :*
I’m not actually 18! But I do have a veeeery young heart! (that must have something to do with my three kids, all under 5! they just keep the balance at a decent year rate ;) ). As for my “real” age, as written in my identity papers, no worries, I’m a real lady, I won’t confess to that, not even under McQueen shoes torture! ;)
lol!
You remind my of my relative who has two little kids that won’t leave her alone. As she wear lots of fashionable clothes and high heels, they always keep getting her outfits dirty. So she decided to change the way she dress now till her kids grow bigger.
Oh, I could write books about how to wear and where and why when having toddlers! It’s an art, I tell you! (which has very little to do with fashion, but a world to do with style!)
Luckily, I still get to look like a very stylish girl, dare I think a fashionista, on those rare and blessed outings with my Adored Husband only! Mine the multi-inch heels and the killer outfits! What can I say, the low frequency of these fashion statement outfits keep the charm rates skyhigh!
right on that!
xx
Yes, my “sisters in crime”: boring! I viewed this show yesterday and I’ve forgotten all about it today. But I still remember a.o. Alexander Wang :)
I think that sometimes one needs a bit of bland to add a some pizazza to their life. If one wore these clothes then you would be the one to the one to stand out and shine. You would not wear the whole look from head to toe, but I think that mixing things up is fun and there are some nice pieces to this collection. They could be foils to your being the centre piece! : )
Ellington, agreed with that point of view! :)
