Devon Aoki Covers Zoo Magazine No 23, The Summer Issue

Summer magazine issues are usually easy to read, easy to pack and lightweight. The German Magazine Zoo Magazine features Devon Aoki on their 23rd Issue cover, the Summer Issue.

I will not hide that I brought this picture to your attention because I like Devon. Her nineties androgynous figure and apparent insouciance add personality to her neutral model self. ( I only like her as a model, she’s quite a terrible actress, I remember seeing her in one of the Fast and Furious movies and she looks/sounded pretty unconvincing but managed a pretty picture after all) Wearing a Stella McCartney lovely mini dress, photographed by Aneta Bartos, Devon is the light cover of Zoo Magazine‘s Summer Issue. (there’s also an alternative pop-like cover featuring Denisa Dvorakova and Clement Chabernaud, you can see it right after the jump!)

There’s something about women photographers shooting women models, something I can’t put my finger on: it’s like they’re picture women entirely. Men photographers tend to focus on separates, considering various accents. Women photographers take it as an ensemble. (though the Stella-air is undeniable when looking at this cover, could lenses have genders?) Remember Devon? (Zoo Magazine via tfs)

I love Devon. and I love Stella’s dress. It’s perfect! I was attracted to Devon’s bun face which is so cute. And I do think the same thing Kpriss. I always notice that most of sexy side of women captured by men, but when I saw women capture women, it’s was the whole women.

I like Devon Aoki as a model as an actor I have only ever seen her in “Sin City” and in that she did not have a speaking role. She was simply a killing machine ninja/prostitute.
The cover of this magazine is rather nice. Also in terms of the lense having a gender I don’t know?
Is this stated after the fact or before the fact? What I mean if I took ten photos taken by five male photographers and five female photographers and they all took photos of the same subject would you still be able to assign who took what?

It could be assigned because I’m taking a photography class and I do see some differences of pics taken by men and women. Most of women and men have a slightly different point of view. Sexy in women’s mind and sexy in men’s mind is the example. But still some pictures might be hard to be assigned because same point of view.
