When the news about her pregnancy emerged, it was pretty interesting to see how almost every title kept emphasizing on Halle Berry’s age more than anything else. Now that the ‘shock’ factor has faded, it’s time to focus on something other than a number: on Halle’s charity work.
And it’s something she’s been keen on doing for years, nothing new there. Except this watch-thing she got on with Michael Kors. Part of a special initiative through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Kors’ Watch Hunger Stop plan is releasing the 100 Series watches. Buying a $295 timepiece from this collection is reportedly giving away 100 meals for those in need.
It’s a pretty noble thing to do and, mind you, not so overpriced as to make it inaccessible for a broader audience. Now that Halle Berry is on board, even more people will focus on the WFP. More so since nutrition is the key in this charity equation and Halle is certainly going to pay very close attention to her daily diet during her pregnancy (she’s a diabetic, so being careful with her life regime is kind of her second nature).
A single look at Halle is enough to inspire a lot of women, so why not get them all onboard of a charitable program? Definitely doable, more so since the watches do look lovely from were I stand!
